I want to torture you. I used to love it, and it's been a long time. I mean, the last time I tortured someone, they didn't even have chainsaws.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

Can we get some Dervishes to whirl? I mean, if they wear the black, of course.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

I am awake with a headache that will not respond to Advil, on the night before a 6 am departure for kiddoes science day complete with rockets. Which I will bet folding money I am now going to miss.

I'm awake too Liese. I had a fever earlier and slept most of the afternoon. It broke around 9:30pm and I've been wide awake ever since. We have a bunch of snow, with more coming down. I wish they would just call it as a snow day. The high tomorrow is expected to be 15 with a wind chill of zero. The roads are going to be icky.

In general, you shouldn't wear black to a wedding

Heh. I'm looking for a black dress to wear as my wedding dress. With a colourful shawl, is my current thinking. Unless another colour dress particularly strikes me. I think I mostly want to annoy my grandmother (who thinks I should be wearing white. At a civil partnership blessing. When I've been living with The Girl for four years).

Generally I go with black for funerals and no white for wedding guests. But at my mom's funeral I wore an ivory sweater set because Mom had always disliked me wearing black.

I wore gray/black at our wedding - [link]

But would avoid wearing black to anyone else's wedding. That wedding dress is actually my go-to funeral dress now. Irish people go to a lot of funerals.

I have been to very few funerals. I don't remember what I wore to the last one, but I do remember that CJ was just over a year old. He got cranky so we went out to the lobby (not sure of the right term) where he got to run off some energy. And then he found a bank of light switches that were down low, the perfect height for him to play with. He flipped off the lights before I got to him and I wasn't sure which switches he flipped, so there was a bit of a light show while I tried to put things to rights.

Oh, and I'm awake. Plows cleared the road and the shopping center parking lot at 3:30 this morning. Tons of scrapping and then pushing the pile into a bigger pile somehow made even more noise than the scrapping.

Jars, that's a lovely wedding outfit!

Indeed. I'm in Ireland a lot for cousins'/other relatives' funerals. I need to try to go more to see people on happier occasions.
