What should I do, then? Send her a gift? Sacrifice? … Unholy fruit basket?

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

I hate that kinda stuff, Jesse. I do it all the time. And that's after I get done dithering! Hello, self-sabotage, how are you? Anyway, you'll get it worked out. It'll be fine.

(Go Browns!) Sorry, New Orleans peeps. I bet against Cleveland, so there are reasonable odds they'll win.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Last night's ER visit was a total Cheers! moment. They knew my special, and they had it on tap. Doctor was pleasant, nurse was beyond sweet (and cute) and we chatted about the incidence of chronic pain sufferers at that ER in general (he'd been my nurse the night I met the other chronic pain chick). About 20 people, he said, who come in regularly, mostly sickle cell anaemia sufferers. I told him that I sometimes had problems being taken seriously and not like a drugseeker, and he said that people were idiots sometimes and he couldn't really talk about it.

I wonder if my mother would be averse to me dating a nurse while I worked my way "up" to the endocrinologist.

Ooh! So close to trip time! Which means it's list time! And, less excitingly, laundry time. But basically, I need to:

  • get hair cut
  • do laundry
  • consider doing nails¹
  • consider doing brows¹
  • consolidate travel toiletries again
  • perform numerous weather checks and waffle on coat
  • make and remake wardrobe lists
  • actually pack

In no particular order.

¹: So I can pretend I've been living a glam life this whole time. Except, of course, she'll see right through me. We lived together or next to each other for three years. Ah, well.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Heh. Also, yay!

I'm glad you had a good ER visit, ita. I totally think you should date the nurse. You could negotiate with your mother.

I was sad because on the last day of my trip I totally whacked off my thumbnail loading my display into boxes. So my childhood friend saw me with the same bitten off paintless nails she remembers. I was hoping to impress her with my glam life by dint of awesome nails, but no. And anyway, she's the one who remembers all the embarrassing childhood stuff anyway, so there's no point in pretending.

It was a great visit anyway, so you'll have a good time, nails or no nails.

I am at the Heartland Cafe, which is very hippy-ish. Just overheard a waitress talking about curing a baby's sickness by putting crystals all around his bead.

And I can't get pig here. And their WiFi sucks, so I'm on someone's very weak "NETGEAR" network. Otherwise this place is cool.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

You should totally date that nurse, ita.

Yeah, all of that. It will be fine.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Yay, good ER visit. Nurse seems pretty close to endocrinologist. Would make a nice early trial for hypothesis testing, at least.

(Browns are playing a pretty good game, Liese. I can't be too bummed that Fujita's having a great game. I'd rather be winning, of course)

Kitten did something to my laptop that I can't figure out how to undo.

I hate that. A few days ago I thought my kitty deleted all 100 of my TV shows from iTunes. But it turned out she just was filtering the list of shows so nothing would show up. And she also renamed an episode of Doctor Who....

Because books.

This.

I'm listening to the RHPS soundtrack and preparing to make cupcakes. It's an indoor lazy day here.

Back tattoos of the mother is that you are absolutely right - Ame

So glad you had a good ER experience this time. May they continue in this manner.

CJ is home. Yay! I swear he grew more while he was in Cali. Thanks to y'all he is going to be a well dressed geek after Christmas. All your t-shirt links have sucked me in.
