US Capitol Police [link]

Throughout the years, our primary responsibilities have remained the same. Our main focus still lies in protecting life and property; preventing, detecting, and investigating criminal acts; and enforcing traffic regulations throughout a large complex of congressional buildings, parks, and thoroughfares. Additionally, we are responsible for protecting Members of Congress, Officers of the United States Senate, United States House of Representatives, and their families. We serve these individuals throughout the entire United States, its territories and possessions, and throughout the District of Columbia.

Um, in less horrifying news, I drugged myself with DayQuil and Mucinex this morning and had a good brunch with a friend. Then we went to Target, where I bought component cables, air filters, rum, pomegranate blueberry juice, and Fast & Furious and Archer on DVD. Got plenty of exercise.

Now I'm going to put my inside pants back on and be lazy.

A hospital spokesperson told CNN that nine people had arrived and that all were in critical or serious condition, including a child.

18 shot, 6 deceased, according to Rick Something, a sheriff being interviewed in CNN right now.

I knew mine was applying for a liquor license, but I thought it was going to be beer and wine only. Apparently not!

I wonder if they are going to do that here?

CSNBC speaker is saying that one of the dead is a federal judge. Unclear if he was there coincidentally or not. Also saying that there was return fire from several parties - again, no idea if that might be her staff or security or just people at the store. But that might have something to do with the maybe up to 19 people hurt.

It's kind of crazy here with the liquor. Seems so weird to be able to go into a CVS and buy Patron and such.
