Um, well, we listened to aggressively cheerful music sung by people chosen for their ability to dance. Then we ate cookie dough, and talked about boys.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

I bravely forced myself off the oh-so-comfortable sofa and out into the cold tonight for grocery shopping. Which, since there is another storm scheduled for tomorrow night and Saturday, was very sensible of me. Plus, I have food if it DOESN'T snow.

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

Well, that backfired. This American Life should come with trigger warnings. I mean, the task is done but now I can't stop crying.

Okay, have stopped now. I may have even needed to hear that, but damn. I think it's time for bed and puppy snuggling.

Choose puppy!

8 clementines is about 2 too many.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

Okay, now there are moruning doves pecking disconsolately at the froaen birdbath.

Doves are dumb even for birds.

Puppy came running when I started crying and did the boxer lean. I'm so lucky to have him.

Yeah, he got lucky too!

So about 6 years ago, my SIL started working as an aide at a part time church preschool just to get reduced fee daycare. She quickly parlayed it into a full time hourly classroom aide at a franchised day care 5 years ago. This summer, she was made a director specifically to turn around a failing school and in the past few months, has upped their numbers, rating and soon will get the school, long unaccredited, accredited. Her district manager bends her ear a lot for ideas, and is sending her to a conference this month, at company expense. He sends new director and assoc director hires to her to train.

Seriously, she's amazing. I wouldn't be surprised if she ends up being a district manager in another couple years.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

One of the SF city supervisors was interviewed on the Daily Show this week (about the banning of toys in Happy Meals), and the word I hear is that he didn't know the point was to make him look ridiculous. Because he doesn't watch the show, I guess?

Oh yeah, that was tragic.

Seriously, she's amazing.

Sounds like!

Art Crawl!!!

sarameg - the conundrum of clementines: you must eat them with abandon because if you don't they will go bad before you get to really enjoy them.

Not that I speak from personal experience or anything.

Mine usually last a couple weeks in the fridge. But I eat them like I don't eat candy.
