I like Chobani (or is it Chaboni?) greek yogurt, and was happy to see that Whole Foods had it in the individual size cartons with fruit included (my grocery store has it just in the big tubs in plain and vanilla flavors). Chobani is the highest in terms of protein, and is really tasty. I think I'll head over to TJ's and try the Fage for tomorrow morning's breakfast.
Instead of my usual fallback of chicken salad from the cafeteria for today's lunch, I got the garlic tilapia. Not bad! And, since I didn't get any of the side dishes (although the rice and corn both looked terrific, I wouldn't be able to eat them without forsaking too much of the fish), the cashier only charged me $2.50 instead of $4.
Also, the cafeteria worker serving me my fish asked if I lived in his apartment building, and it turns out I do. He told me that his new next-door neighbors also work here! I'll have to find out who they are.
Kathy, Jewel by me carries Chobani (and Fage), so your's might, too.
Tomorrow is my coworker's birthday, so I might try to make a lemon layer cake. But it's also epiphany...so gallette de roi?? I would buy one of those though...I don't feel like messing around with puff pastry.
Thanks for all the good thoughts. I'm pretty sure my mom is healthy but it couldn't hurt to have the good wishes out there!
When I was a teenager, I had an attendant who looked like Grubby!Scarlett Johanson. Sometimes when I see her, I want to call her Shelli and ask her for a grilled cheese sandwich.(She really did look look like that...she didn't have to be such a loser magnet.)
The word "epiphany" always takes me to an Angel place.
"Epiphany" always reminds me of studying Hemingway in university English classes.
Lots of ~ma to erika and her mother and also - woo hoo for Bob's good scan.
I just realized that I have a bunch of Malabrigo worsted and I can't recall what project I bought it for. Yikes.
I like Chobani
Me, too. I regularly consume their pomegranate and peach flavors.
(as are the usual suspects Emeril's, Commander's Palace, etc.). Whattya got?
I can only say that Commander's Palace was one of the top 5 dining experiences of my life. And not insanely priced (according to DC standards, anyway)
I said this on my LJ at the time:
When I walked up to the host stand, he smiled and said "Miss Johnson? Welcome to Commander's Palace" I don't know if I was the only reservation at the time or what, but it really made me feel special that I didn't have to open my mouth and I was welcomed. The host led me to a gorgeous table right next to the patio, but indoors, so very comfortable. We went through the kitchen, which was neat (literally and figuratively, it was spotless) I sat down and ordered my standard drink -- Grey Goose Gimlet, straight up. It arrived quickly, along with some of the best garlic bread I've ever eaten. The staff was incredibly attentive and professional. I discussed the menu with my server, she had some good suggestions. I ended up with tasso ham wrapped shrimp with five pepper jelly and Crystal hot sauce buerre blanc and the shrimp "haute couture", which was shrimp sauteed in brown butter with andouille scented rice, and corn and okra maque choux. the shrimp were perfectly cooked, the corn fresh, crisp and sweet. One of the owners stopped by to say hello, we chatted for a bit. I ordered coffee, I couldn't fathom dessert. I ate two orders of garlic bread, I just didn't have room for dessert. When I asked for the check, my server told me that the owner had asked that I be given a cocktail on the house. I opted for the house specialty, the name I can't remember, but it was dark rum, fresh lime juice, angostura bitters, simple syrup and a "secret ingredient". Marvelous.
And no, I don't care that the GL trailer looks a little jokey. I still think they got the point.
Is he Hal Jordan or Kyle Rayner? Kyle Rayner I can get, but Hal Jordan? No.
OK, Vortex, now I'm HUNGRY!!!
