Writing a list and feeling accomplishment when I check them off is so totally my grownup version of gold stars.
In ugh news, there were two (separate) murders in my city last week. Both people were parents, one of a 3rd grader at my kids' school, and the other of a girl who I think is in Casper's class (neither Casper nor I are positive about the last name).
Shrift, I hope your birthday ends better than it began.
Those are pretty.
I would LOVE a sugar skull ring.
Oh, flea, that's terrible! That seems unusual for your town, is it?
I really want some pie.
::waves pie at the modem hopefully::
I want a gold star.
Gold Star for sj!
Did you earn it?
I realized that my non-productivity is partially because my sinuses are not in peak performance shape, so I ordered some super local seasonally collected honey to take for allergy prevention. That's kinda like proactive getting ready to be productive later.
I am now going to have a turkey sandwich on whole wheat bread. My body is excited about this plain, simple fare as apparently I indulged every rich deliciousness over the holidays.
::looks at belly::
Yes, I did.
Yeah, we are not a very violent city, and don't have much of a gang or drug problem. Both of the murder victims were single parents, but employed, hardworking people in stable situations.
I ate like a fucking pig over the holidays. But my appetite doesn't seem to have lasted. Not having buffets of Jamaican food in front of me three times a day cuts down on the food lust.
I quoted Dune over the holiday (EASY Dune (mindkiller)), and everyone in the car gaped blankly. I said "Oh, god, I'm the only one here that's read Dune, aren't I?" and two people said "What's Dune?" (and went on to say "Sting acts?") and the other two started mangling the lyrics to Hey Jude.
My sister might eyeroll and sideeye whenever I mention Supernatural or
too
much Buffy, but at least she knows of the first book and movie. Still, it was a pretty dry vacation. I was going to say that she don't quote shit, but my mother did complain often about our "code." Maybe it's a twin thing. Or me forcing her into my stuff thing.

So sad. Be careful out there my humans!
