Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Our old vets' office made it a practice to scan new patients. They didn't bother, of course, with pets they'd seen before, but in case someone had taken in a stray or lost pet, they just scanned on the first visit. There was some pet stealing in town, some of it for bait animals, but some of it was not wanting to pay for a purebred pet.

Honestly, while that's sick, I think it's better than people who buy or adopt a dog--or have a puppy foisted on them--buy a 10'x10' chainlink pen and a fiberglass igloo, stick the dog in it and go out once a day to pour dry food in the bowl and fill up the water dish. Dog doing life for the owner's crime of ignorance.

"We're all stories, in the end. Just make it a good one, eh?"

Happy birthday, shrift!

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

he thinks she's cuter that way

He's not really a pet person. I'm not sure what he's looking for out of an animal, but it doesn't really seem practical.

hip deep in pie

My cats aren't chipped. I am a little dubious about putting something like that under the skin. Also, they don't go outside unsupervised.

Clio was just settling down beside me when Oz came along and reached across my legs and took a swipe at her. Oz pretty well down to the basement on his own, because he knew he was in trouble.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Having met Sparky's DH, I think he is very much a pet person.

Silly, but a pet person.

I'm supposed to be doing stuff that I don't wanna do.

Librarian Warlord

He's definitely a pet person. And practical is not a word that I'd use in conjunction with most pets, esp. mine. She's definitely a luxury item. And she makes me happy.

Art Crawl!!!

My cat isn't chipped - but she isn't an indoor/outdoor kitty. Although, had I had Ivan chipped - maybe I would have gotten him back.

beagle/Cav cross pup - evilly cute.

oh joy! Oh Rapture ! I have a brain!

Nathaniel doesn't really even go outside , but he will escape if he can , doesn't come when called and we have earthquakes. and while he has a collar -- it is something he can get out of. I tend toward extreme levels of responsibility when it comes to most things , including pets.
