I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

I hope sleep helps with the headache and the hip, Cass.

I'm one of those weird morning people. Not necessarily as early 6 am on a Saturday when I'm not dog sitting, but now that I'm up it's nice to watch the morning gather itself in.

I have been up since 5:30 with rambunctious little boy and bonus fighting cats and ye gads I wish I could go back to bed.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I woke up just before 7 for no apparent reason.

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

I woke up before 7:00, too!

Except that I had a reason; I'm at work right now.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

That's not right.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

I woke up before 5:00 for no apparent reason. To go back to an earlier conversation, I am catching up on the internets on the laptop in my bedroom.

I woke to the sound of breaking glass. Thanks, Devi. She's up to her old tricks of knocking things off. Market in a bit.

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

I woke at 1 to my usual insomnia. Then I woke again to the same at 5. Since 5 is my usual wakeup on school days I figured I'd just get up. Ugh. I hate insomnia.

Man, so much insomnia.

I am eating a slice of warm chili cheddar bread from a local bakery spread with juice sweetened apple butter from an orchard here in Md. NOM. Then I'll go run errands.

There was a time where I wouldn't leave the house without a shower, and god forbid, without taming bedhead. That time is past. I try to at least not have stuff sticking up in weird directions, but...I'm either lazy or have other priorities, take your pick.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Ok, for values of sleeping in that mean somewhere around five. SO`s housework morning alarm went off. He slept through it. I did not. So I just now woke him up to see if it was important, but no. Anyway, I stoked the fire and it flared right back up. I love this rhythm. Kettle is on the stove. Dog is fed. We`ll do stovetop oatmeal this morning for breakfast. My internet access should renew shortly Life is pretty good, considering.
