But the description of the third dress now has me wondering--what if now is a good time to indulge my longtime craving for a cheongsam? I could even go all the way and find a Chinatown tailor and have it made to fit.

In the broiler is fastest - just do about 5-10 minutes per side until they're blackened all over. (On foil so you don't have to clean pepper juice off your broiler pan.) Then put them in a bowl & cover for a few minutes to let them soften and you can rinse the skins & seeds off under running water.
