I may be love's bitch, but at least I'm man enough to admit it.

Spike ,'Sleeper'

Spike's Bitches 46: Don't I get a cookie?

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

Much anti-seizure~ma for Mr. Peabody. Having that condition under control would be great.

Also great, in an entirely different way, is Margaret Atwood being amused at pics of Aims as Offred.

"We're all stories, in the end. Just make it a good one, eh?"

Congrats on the job, beth! That's fantastic.

Happy belated birthday, Emeline!

It's still snowing. The Girl's going to have to accompany me to work. Just down the road they have a *foot* of snow, and half the UK's airports are closed. Don't know what's happening to this mild little island's climate. I need better central heating.

I think Dickens was writing during the mini-ice age. So a snowy London might have been pretty spot on.

Indeed. It feels like we're currently in the grip of another one of those. I am hording the tins of soup.

Seska, where are you and TG living now. I'm starting to plan our big trip to England in May and I definitely want to see both of you.

Yay! That would be brilliant! We're in Nottingham, in the East Midlands. (Not the most exciting place in Britain, once you've done the castle and what claims to be the oldest pub in the UK.) We can offer a sofa bed if that helps! Here's hoping the snow has cleared by May.

I hope Mr Peabody is OK, Ginger.

I wish I could just go somewhere to get flensed but none of the whaling ships near me take Medicare.

I was in the West Midlands for part of my UK trip and I had a blast. But I'm one of those people who loves seeing how the actual people live. Not that I don't like big city attractions... by the time I got to London, though, I had a cold so I just stayed at my friends. Didn't see the Tate or nuffin.

I hope the snow is still in the "how fun" stage, Seska.

"And that's why God Almighty gave us fire insurance and the public defender".

Oh beth, wonderful news! It's great to hear about Buffistas getting jobs they wanted.

And anti-seizure~ma for Mr. Peabody, as well.

It's still snowing.

Looks out the window. Oh hey, it's 23C outside! Sunny! And it's December, and I didn't wear my coat once this "winter"!

So, yeah, I beginning to think this whole "snow" thing is a conspiracy.

Effing she shwoed Maragaret Atwood a picture of me in my costume and Margaret Atwood was freaking AMUSED!! HOLY SHIT.

How cool!

"And that's why God Almighty gave us fire insurance and the public defender".

Oh, and also: happy Hanukkah! My favorite holiday is here again!

“Not dead yet!”

Oh, Happy Celebration of Fried Foods, Shir!

And anti-seizure ~ma for Mr. Peabody. Try not to scare your human that way, little dude.

"And that's why God Almighty gave us fire insurance and the public defender".

Oh, Happy Celebration of Fried Foods, Shir!

It's not just that. It's the whole ritual with lightning the candles, thus reminding myself that the even the tiniest light overcomes pitch darkness (also, it's a quote by Ben Gurion).

And food.

And family.

It is the best of holidays, really. So comforting, too. No restrictions on food. Just light, and laughter, and good food, and family. I love it.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

My favorite holiday is here again!

Nilly's favorite too, as I recall.

Happy Hanukkah!

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

~ma for Mr. P. Seizures are no fun.

Happy slightly belated birthday to Emeline! Seems only yesterday she was echoing my carelessly uttered "oh shit" in a hotel room in SF.

So what the hell? Why am I up? I think it's the wind, but it's just odd that I was so tired earlier and convinced I'd sleep like a log from my hard labor, and now poing! Wide awake.

Seska, be safe, stay warm.

Happy hanukkah, Shir, and all who celebrate! Sad but true, my spelling-challenged sister spells it "hanicka". I'll see my parents for presents and latkes on Monday, but I should dig out the menorah and light my own candles.

Benedryl: and now the rain and itchies are keeping me awake. Very mild outside, 70 degrees. And it's pouring. Hope there's a rain plan for work tomorrow.
