Spike's Bitches 46: Don't I get a cookie?
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
ptui to cilantro!
Did I say how proud I am of you Shir? Oh yes, I did it from the iPhone, because it was too important to wait. I hope some laws with positive results come out of all this. Even if they don't, look how much you have brought the issue to the public. In one month time, interviews, and a city calling about laws. So proud of you! Maybe you should consider starting a site about world peace... or how to build transporter!
{{{Amyth}}} Not sure what else to say. But, we are here for you.
I have spent much of the morning chugging through my backlog of grading (I am so re-structuring this class next semester so that there's less grading), which has been, largely, gratifying.
Now, I am hungry (wtf, stomach. It's only 11.). I have no change for the vending machines, so I must go forth into the world and seek food. There's only Subway on campus (and it may not be open), which, eh. What should I get for lunch?
Hivemind question: What is the proper etiquette for thanking an office full of people who gave us a gift? Individual thank you notes? Thank you e-mails? One thank you note to the group? I'm going to bake something for Dave to take into work next week as well.
I thanked my department for baby shower gifts via email, and also in person.
I did one thank you note to everyone. I was working in a small office at that time, so I addressed the note to "Cathi, Marie, Eva, and Jeanne."
If it had been in my other office at MIT, I would have addressed it to "OER." Or sent an email to everyone.
I would do one thank you note to the group.
I am really dreading writing thank you notes. I mean, I love getting the gifts and I love thanking people. Also, one of my bridesladies has designed and printed the thank you cards we will be using so that's awesome. But I have epically bad handwriting. And it hurts to hand write. But, hey, GIFTS! (People have been crazy generous already. It's kind of blowing my mind.)
lisah, you can turn thank you notes into something fun.
After my first marriage, EM and I would go off for a couple hours every Sunday, sit in a cafe in North Beach and write notes while sipping wine or nibbling on treats. We did them all in about three weekends.
It's all about the reward system.
Yeah, I have no problem with the concept of them or anything. It's just a physically awkward task for me and kind of humiliating because I have such a terrible scrawl. But I really do like showing gratitude!
sj, in my office, the employee usually sends one e-mail to the group. So if TCG's office did something that warrants a thank you, TCG should send the e-mail. (Though baked goods are a nice touch, too.)

Okay, I got it. Rubber stamps making a rebus.
