Spike's Bitches 46: Don't I get a cookie?

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

"And that's why God Almighty gave us fire insurance and the public defender".

most people sleep in 90 minute cycles...so it makes sense that you could easily wake up at 6:30 or 8...but not any time in between.

But it doesn't make sense if I fell asleep after 1:00am.

I get woken up in the middle of a dream and that REALLY messes me up.

So much this.

I forgot to write this morning before I left home - feel better, Hil (and smonster, too).

ION - it's amazing to see how many people in the library think the computers aren't working because they haven't tried to turn them on (they're usually on, but it's the first day after a long holiday. It make sense that they will be shut down).

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

I'd rather Beck and ilk be eaten by a crack in time and space and erased from existence.

I seriously just wondered why you were focusing such ill on a band that sang "Lost Cause." Then I translated correctly and agree with you completely.

Feel better, smonster.

This.

ION, people who talk in libraries (in the "keep it quiet" floors, at least), are on the list. Seriously. WTF. Dudes.

Same here!

smonster, my completely unscientific diagnosis is that its one bite and you are having an allergic reaction to it

omnis, pursue. That's an order from a shy woman who can use M-16. - Shir

Tons and tons and TONS of health~ma to EVERYONE!

And in petty news, I'd really appreciate it if people would stop honking from their cars in order to call for someone in the street/house. Especially at 23:14.
That's what cell phones are for. And at that hour? Woa. I think you should brush off those M-16 skills.

I couldn't do it with an alarm set to 7:20 or 7:45. Could do it with an alarm set (without snooze!) to 6:30, even though I fell asleep sometime after 1:00am. Bodies and sleep circulations are a weird thing.
My sleep patterns are chaotic. The snooze button is my friend, on multiple machines.

ION - Today was a good day of teaching. Er. Um. Well, as a Staff member I can only instruct. So, for the two students in my workshop, it was a good day of learning. Wow. What a cool feeling to see the fog lift from the eyes of Padawan!

And now, I'm off to bed, about two hours earlier than I usually do. Must get used to mornings. Why did I take this job?? (:: looks back a paragraph ::) Oh yeah, that.

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

smonster, try hot compresses on the eyelid (as hot as you can stand), then apply a tiny (TINY!) bit of .5% cortisone creme to the area with a clean, slightly damp, q-tip.

(This is what I had to do years ago when a particular company changed the formula of their liquid liner with no warning.)

Jilli, were you rendered unable to wear eyeliner for some period of time?

(the thought makes me sad)

The snooze button is my friend

Snooze button is a friend and a foe, in my case. The problem is that I never know when it's starting to ring which one it'll be today, and I'm too much into sleep to try and find out. But in occasion, I can linger up to an hour and a half of snoozing (if I don't have anything in particular to do that day). Sometimes, extra 10 minutes of sleep are vital. At other times, I just want to escape everything and everyone for that day. And sometimes I can be all out and about the first time the alarm rings. But trusting my mostly-sleeping body to make that conscious decision, well... A friend and a foe, as I said. A friend and a foe.

Feel better, smonster!

Omnis, here's a post OKCupid administration did on their observations about pics in profiles:

In other news, I signed up for Alikewise [link] , a personals site Neil Gaiman mentioned that uses what books people read as a criterion for matching.

ETA: Damn, I had this queued up to post and got distracted. Now Omnis is asleep.

... I'm not that entirely sure I'd like to date people who read the same shit I read. Plus, it takes the fun out of converting them into sci-fi. However, I remember reading about a site which matches academics according to the ideas/theories they believe in. That's something I could go on with, if only I believed in the idea of dating.
