She growls?! You made her so she growls?!

Spike's Bitches 46: Don't I get a cookie?

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

"And that's why God Almighty gave us fire insurance and the public defender".

... I'm not that entirely sure I'd like to date people who read the same shit I read. Plus, it takes the fun out of converting them into sci-fi. However, I remember reading about a site which matches academics according to the ideas/theories they believe in. That's something I could go on with, if only I believed in the idea of dating.

Me, metareconsidering-everything since 1985.

"We're all stories, in the end. Just make it a good one, eh?"

DCJ, it's good to hear they caught the sleep problems. CPAPs are meant to be fantastic and make a huge difference.

Health~ma for everyone who needs it. 2010 is not being kind to the health of Bitches. Hmph.

Teppy, that confusion is why the American phrase 'from... through' is helpful (although I suppose not useful in your particular sentence). I always wish we have that, when people say "from the 1st to the 3rd of September" and I'm almost sure they mean including the 3rd, but 'through' would make that clearer. Oh and your unicorn is both awesome and disturbing. Which may be the point.

My sleep patterns are chaotic. The snooze button is my friend, on multiple machines.

So true. I also have a 'Lumie' alarm clock that wakes me up with light. That helps.

I'm not that entirely sure I'd like to date people who read the same shit I read. Plus, it takes the fun out of converting them into sci-fi.

The Girl found me on OutEverywhere solely because I had Buffy as a 'like' in my profile. Joss Whedon: responsible for all the best lesbian pairings.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

High-fives Seska. Also a few good het. pairings, says the woman who met her man in a Buffy chat room.

There was a time in my life when I thought I could only be happy with a man who loved Tolkien as much as I do. And after a decade of loneliness lowered my standard to "comprehends after a brief explanation why I could not watch the LOTR movies in the theater". At least we are agreed on Whedon and Gaiman.

I wish I could just go somewhere to get flensed but none of the whaling ships near me take Medicare.

At the moment, there are a lot of people with NYTimes best-selling literature and award-winning lit in their profiles. Foolish me stuck to what I actually read a lot so I've got hardly any matches at the moment. Couldn't find anyone with Charles De Lint, Marion Zimmer Bradley or Katherine Kurtz in their profiles. Heh.

As I said, it's only one criterion. You can still match on other things you would use in regular ol' personals sites.

And none of us deserving the cruelty or the grace -- Leonard Cohen

Yay, Trudy! Fantastic news. What a relief.

DCJ, good luck with the sleep apnea diagnosis. I hope that this is the beginning of improvements for you in that area.

Continued ~ma for Pix and ND!

Oh, gosh. I was so stuck on Daniel's sleep stuff, that I kinda spaced out on the Sloan-Kettering contingent. Trudy, Yay for them getting the whole tumor! Amyth, I'm glad to hear the surgery went well.

Pix, how are you holding up?

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe

I'm not that entirely sure I'd like to date people who read the same shit I read.

I suppose it depends on how much you really really enjoy discussing and/or geeking out over what you read. I love The Boy madly, but he doesn't read, and I really, really wish he did, so we could geek out over books. Although he does read comics, so there's that.

Some people don't really care about discussing what they read with their SOs; the have a book club or other friends for that, so that's fine. And I have Buffistas to geek out over my books with, and that makes me happy. But still.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

CPAPs are meant to be fantastic and make a huge difference.

As far as I can see the only bad thing is flying with them. Just know you're going to be searched and be grateful you aren't Arab-lookin'.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

DH and I usually don't read the same books, but our tastes overlap enough that we can recommend stuff to each other every now and then.

Of course, what nobody tells you ahead of time is that once you have kids, 99% of conversations with your spouse will be about poop or how tired you both are.

"And that's why God Almighty gave us fire insurance and the public defender".

The downside of studying in the library: I cannot cuss properly when the stupid PDF reader decides not to save all of the papers I looked for and into thoroughly the entire morning (including the notes I digitally wrote and saved on them) and fail at opening them. Thank God I had the brains to save in the file names the titles of the articles and the last names of their authors. But just to balance the last hour of retracing the damn articles from the web:

DIE YOU PIECE OF SHITTY, MISLEADING, TIME SUCKING SOFTWARE, DIE! kicks software in its metaphorical nuts .

And now, back to the cultural discussion on literature and love.
