Angel: Is that what you think you are--a hero? Spike: Saved the world didn't I? Angel: Once. Talk to me after you've done it a couple more times.

Spike's Bitches 46: Don't I get a cookie?

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

"We're all stories, in the end. Just make it a good one, eh?"

Four days in a field (at the Greenbelt festival) later, and I'm 550 posts behind. Great weekend, though!

We still don't own a house. I'm looking at the schedule of things we have to do on the house before the end of September and wondering whether I can move into a place without a stairlift or ramps yet. I could sleep in the driveway, maybe...

Health~ma for Drew, amyth's brother and Connie's husband.

And in petty news, I'd really appreciate it if people would stop honking from their cars in order to call for someone in the street/house. Especially at 23:14.

Ah, people. So considerate.

"And that's why God Almighty gave us fire insurance and the public defender".

As far as I know, I do not live next to a crack house. I do, however, live next to some yellish (yelling and hellish) teenagers. Well, some of them are adults too. Anyhow, my family reckons there's some of weird mutation in genetics going on there. It's almost unbelievable how loud they can get by merely talking to each other. Their "talking" is my "shouting".

Edit: Accessible House~ma for you and TG, Seska.

Always Anti-fascist!

The druggies I used to live next to were very quiet and if they didn't have so many visitors that stayed for five or ten minutes and vacuum all the time, I might never have guessed.

Thanks. It'll be accessible. It just might not get made accessible until after I start my PhD. *nail-biting*

I wish I could just go somewhere to get flensed but none of the whaling ships near me take Medicare.

Adding to the accessible house~ma.

I just forced myself to see if I could get an appt with my old dr. while visiting the Bay Area. I haven't gotten a new dr. here yet and I never followed up on the MRI. Before I would have just assumed it was impossible so I'm proud of myself for forcing myself to ask. I got an appt that will work.

I also followed up on a potential gig booking. This local open air market tried to book me when my house sold and the date they wanted was after my move to LA. If they can book me in on the one Sat I have avail (they're only on Sat.s), I can play my first gig in a while and have a chance to sell some CDs. I could seriously use the $.

ETA: Shoot. They've booked through Oct. Oh well, props to me for asking anyway.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

~ma to everyone.

I just had to cut short my third class and cancel my fourth, because I was teaching three classes in a row in a building with no air conditioning, and it's over 90 degrees, and by the time I'd been teaching for an hour and a half, I was dripping with sweat and felt like I was going to either faint or throw up, and I just couldn't handle it for another hour and a half. Same classrooms and same weather tomorrow, but I'll be giving a quiz, so I won't have to use as much energy.

Do you have any TAs you can get to fan you and peel you grapes, a la Cleopatra?

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

Those are so you, Trudy.

Oh me, they'd be redic. But on you? What the pretty lady said.

Grouchy.

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

Seriously, Universe, could you give the PixDesigns a break? I think they've more than earned it at this point.

This. THIS. PAY ATTENTION, UNIVERSE, AND START BEHAVING YOURSELF.

Trudy, I'm trying to convince myself that I don't need those Docs.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

Jilli, you don't need those Docs.

You might need the Mary Jane, however.
