Haha! My addiction is so shameful!

Spike's Bitches 46: Don't I get a cookie?
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
Just don't shoot up the coffee.
Great news, amyth!
That's so great to hear, amyth.
Great news, amych!
Random true neurology fact - singing comes from a completely different area of the brain than speech, and brother-of-amych's cover of "That's Amore" was probably less slurred than his speech.
Awesome fact, Sean!
But probably still terrible. All three of us, like our father, are awful singers. Only our mother could sing. But I'm sure it was wonderful to hear!
Excellent news, amyth.
And not coincidentally, I've been earwormed with "That's Amore" (Dean Martin version) all morning.
My 5 year old nephew apparently got in trouble at school for standing on the lunchroom tables singing "That's Amore".
That is fan-FUCKING-tastic news, amyth!
sj, that's too precious. I'm imagining a '50's-style musical production, complete with suddenly-dancing students and a full orchestra.
I *heart* sj's nephew. what a great way to get in trouble. fantastic news from amyth's fam, continuing the ~ma all over for positive outcomes all round.
I used to get migraines at least once a week starting around age 11. Worst was one that lasted 4 days. 4 days of crying as softly and gently as possible in a dark room. Went to mult drs and neuros b/ my pediatrician didn't believe teenagers could get migraines *shrug*. Standard mind-stabbingly painful headaches with olfactory auras coupled with blinding pain, nausea, and light sensitivity. I wouldn't make that shit up, they came on weekends as well as weekdays so it wasn't like i was trying to avoid school. At age 16 got put on nortryptylene as a preventative after competent neuro realized how fast i was going through midrin and naprosyn on an "as needed" basis. I had clearly told him i was averaging three migraines a week, and yet he was still astonished i was taking the meds more than once a week. Der. Stayed on the preventative for 15 years, by which time they had tapered out to maybe one or two a year, so i gradually weaned off it and am holding steady at maybe one or two a year, sometimes less. Outgrowing misery is a great thing that i highly recommend. Now i just get tension and eyestrain headaches, which feel totally different and respond magnificently to ibuprofen.
It seems to me that migraines seem to be more prevalent among intelligent/creative types. Never found a specific trigger for mine but i think more and more that it might have had something to do with my tobacco allergy...since the migraines desisted around the same time my "asthma" disappeared (when i moved out of VA where everyone smoked inside to CA where no one was allowed to smoke inside anywhere.) Or maybe they were just an early warning flag for FMS.
Sometimes i wonder if our brains are just wired wierd.
