Spike's Bitches 46: Don't I get a cookie?
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
It's weird to think there are people going to midnight shows today who weren't alive when I was going to midnight shows.
Aaiighh.
I can't decide if this film merely fit into the niche sexuality I was developing at the time (I first saw the show when I was 15) or if this movie is actually responsible for my sexuality.
If the movie you're referring to is RHPS, we are as one.
I don't recall ever being attracted to a man in a corset before I saw Tim Curry but then he's probably the first one I saw.

Oh, lord. Please to not be pointing out that people I clearly remember as scrawny creatures in diapers are now bearded people graduating from college.
It was a shock a couple of years ago when my oldest told me she and her friends were going to go up to the Nuart in Santa Monica to see RHPS. I so wanted to go with them, but I was pointedly not invited. No self-respecting 17-year-old wants their mom tagging along but I was soooo tempted.

Laga and I are one on this. Thank goodness for the Strand Theater in Hermosa Beach, which is sadly long gone.
Huh. I'm just remembering they used to stop the film before the credits were finished and turn the house lights up and kick us out. I bet the studio wouldn't have been too pleased with that.
Now, question for the drug-knowing 'istas: my sister got prescription today for Topamax for her Very Bad Migraines. Any word on that specific drug, or knowledge that you can share?
Yep, I did just wean myself off of it. I didn't have too bad a time going on, with the fatigue/dopeyness, but tapered up, when going on. The most things I noticed were the lack of words (I couldn't come up with them, and would just let sentences trail off) and the tingly feet and hands--but there was some anorexia (lack of appetite) as well.
Just read my oldest sister's cancer blog. The latest round of chemo isn't working right. Damn these long drawn-out diseases. A few months ago she was looking at a brighter-than-expected future. That light at the end of the tunnel is looking like it might be the Sunset Limited after all.
