I'm a single undead gal trying to make it in the big city. I have to start somewhere and they're evil here. They don't judge. They've got necro-tempered glass. No burning up. A great medical plan, and who needs dental more than us?

Spike's Bitches 46: Don't I get a cookie?

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

Printer is now working. CD drive is not. Good enough for now -- time to prep classes for this week.

Occasionally I’m callous and strange

I actually enjoy assembling furniture (not ATM, of course, but normally, when i can, like, bend over and stuff) and like the plain pine ikea stuff. (my living room is surrounded in Ivar shelves AIFG) I've gotten two great bedframes there, both under $80 made of solid pine and delightful. The trick with ikea furniture is to always have a power drill handy, as sometimes "pre-drilled holes" aren't full drilled and trying to do it all by hand would kill one's wrists. I may also just be insane. Going there in person, however, because OMG so annoying, always takes the majority of a day.

eta: one of the delightful things about the unfinished pine is that if you happen to leave a candle burning on a shelf, a little too close to the next shelf up, your whole living room fills with the wintry smell of toasting pine. a pleasant reminder to move the fire.

Danger is my middle name, only I spell it R. u. t. h. - Tina Belcher.

erin_obscure, I hate flare-ups! May yours pass soon.

Same to Seska and anyone else in pain!

I must start cleaning out stuff and organizing stuff and packing stuff. It looks like I'm moving, ready or not.

The status is NOT quo.

Oh people in pain, I am with you. I woke up with my mid-back spasming and frozen and owey. Also, it is cold and rainy.

"And that's why God Almighty gave us fire insurance and the public defender".

Much~ma to people in pain.

God help me, but I really do enjoy my job. I think what makes the different is working with uber intelligent people who trust me.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

I got to see amych fence!!!!! More importantly, I got to see her fence really well! (Also, she fenced Jane Eyre. No, seriously. Jane Eyre is also a world champion. Seriously. [I'm trying to come up with a "Mr. Rochester" joke and failing.]) Also, I have pictures, but no time to put them up right now.

Hopefully, we will hook up later for Graeter's. In the interim, The Boy and I are going out to his parents' house to visit and have dinner.

t edit Actually, in the time it took me to type all that, it turns out I do have time to fiddle with pictures, because The Boy is going over to help out a buddy who's going through a bad breakup. So -- pictures soon!

Shit's all sorts of different now.

Holy shit, ya'll. You can spend over $400 at Sam's Club without half trying. Not that I know for sure or anything ...

But I'll not need lots of things for a long time. Sam's Club and Costco are awesome for controlled hoarding, like that which I am doing.

Joe and I cleaned the eff out of the garage, too. He's taking back all the Girl Scout bottles for me this week so we have room for people in there for the Halloween party this Saturday.

Speaking of, I need to go out today and find an ankle length red dress, red gloves, red boots, and I have to figure out how to make a coif/wimple thingie with wings. Our theme this year is Science Fiction.

You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

Un-spasm-y back~ma, Pix.

Aside from having to drive my possibly damp car later, I love these kinds of days.

Note that out here we never get the kind of cold rainy days where you have to scrape ice off your car to find the door lock.

I am such a child. I want my roomie to get up and enjoy this rainy day with me. At the moment D is literally my roommate because my bed is the futon on the floor but I did just go in there and start jumping on my bed, hoping to wake him.
