Spike's Bitches 46: Don't I get a cookie?

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

“Not dead yet!”

Yay, AIMS on the test slayage!

Got out and about today to a local(ish) library-- some friends were speaking on a panel and I wanted to go be supportive. Turned out to be a good thing because a) got to see friends, b) got to meet the librarians who are super author friendly/supportive (and the teen librarian recognized my name and bless her, was appalled she didn't know I was now a local- bless!) and c) got to talk to a teen writing group that the teen services librarian has organized and they were so adorable and so excited to be talking to real writers.

It made me feel really good about what I do and helped me shore up the defenses for what I'm dealing with.

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

I'm glad you got the support and validation you deserve, Barb.

Headache has abated but fatigue is setting in, so despite having only been up for about 9 hours, I'm walking the pup and heading back to bed. Lots to do tomorrow.

I wish I could just go somewhere to get flensed but none of the whaling ships near me take Medicare.

Great that you got that boost, Barb!

Sleep tight, smonster.

Good night to you, too, Spidra.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Yay, Barb! Sounds like a very good day.

Occasionally I’m callous and strange

my flare up seems to be cooperating,or is at least responding to muscle relaxers and anti inflammatories. this is good. i look forward to being able to roll over in bed tonight, even if there isn't anyone there but a cat who wants to nom my hair. I also missed a really great party tonight because i can't drive, ride my bike, or walk more than a few blocks in this amount of pain. FMS can kiss my ass. OTOH, been wearing exactly the same jammies for over 24 hours now and i'm totally ok with that. Changing shirts would just be too dangerous. Glad i called in sick, somehow i doubt my coworkers would have appreciated unshowered and unbra-d me in my scooby doo/bat jammie pants and shlumpy cardigan.

eta: and i have also discovered that i can decorate eggs on muscle relaxers and narcotics far better than on a half glass of wine. apparently booze makes my hands shaky, but not flexeril, naprosyn, or oxycodone. go figure. at least i was able to do *something* today other than moan and whine to myself.

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

I made it out tonight for three hours, whioh is four more than I thought. I'm glad I made it out, but my cold has me wiped. 2 drinks and in by 11:15 -- wow, I am...hmm, less say way more settled.

Barb, library day sounds good.

That does sound very cool, Steph.

Erin O, I hope your flareup subsides soon.

I managed to force myself to power through the depression. It helped that my siblings buggered off somewhere else. I've spent my time cataloging the plants I bought at Annie's Annuals when I was in the Bay Area. I'm looking forward to another hot bath to try to get the involuntary muscle contractions to lessen.

"And that's why God Almighty gave us fire insurance and the public defender".

Have a wonderful hot bath, Spidra - I'm sorry for the suck.

Barb, I'm glad you had a good day.

So, leaving soon the handle that budget. My question is: yes, I'm excited about my new job, but why can't I stay home and watch Wonderfalls?
