'Dirty Girls'

Spike's Bitches 46: Don't I get a cookie?

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

It's good to hear your sister was trying to be a moderator. I sense that means she's more likely to see the writing on the wall, and sympathizes with her brothers.

She just wrote on my Facebook Wall, "So that phone call last night was just so awesome, right?"

While I feel very sad for the way that P-C and BroCow are being treated, I can understand how his parents aren't happy. They are dream children for parents in an purely American culture, yes. And that is absolutely where they chose to raise their kids. But clearly their Indian culture is still very strong and very important to them. And these kids? Are not following those rules.

I just think it's a complicated situation. While fully supporting their right to find mates of their own, I see where this is inevitably going to lead to extreme and possibly unworkable conflict.

I agree with you. I wish we could get them to see that marrying a non-Indian woman != entirely rejecting Indian culture, but that's how they see it.

Pix and ND, I'm glad they have a diagnosis, and I hope that treating said diagnosis resolves all issues.

I'm a fucking amazing catch!--Fiona Gallagher, Shameless(US)

"Could ya just die, Bob, uh, Brownie? Could you just do that?" Also, Cry Moar. Because of course, the real problem with fucking tons of bilgey water choking out one of America's cultural centers is that everyone has the wrong impression of you...are you sure we're not related? Motherfucker. ETA: Also, the only context in which Brown looks looks good is next to Bernie Madoff, Stalin, and Pol Pot. I think that doesn't mean what he thinks it means.

oh joy! Oh Rapture ! I have a brain!

sending out as much ma~~ as i can Drew, Amyth's brother, and Trudy's aunt.

re: housekeeping -- I marked Erin'post - really a good one. If you have had hardwood floors, you know who much dirt and grime gets on your floors in a day. hence the idea of vacuuming every day .

I have some huge book on house keeping - it does tell you how to Clean All The Things and then some. but the best piece of info I got -- in the 'old days' there were things like Monday was baking day , tuesday was laundry day , etc. so make a schedule --loose or precise , which ever fits you best. and do what makes sense. I sweep almost every day -- because I walk around barefoot and dirty floors feel gross. However, i never vacuumed that much cause it didn't bother me that much. dishes get done most days -- but real kitchen cleaning isn't quite as often. And I clean the bathroom a couple of times a week - less scrubbing than a once a week cleaning takes and then I get way behind.

P-C and brother keep on being reasonable. It might never 'win' but this is one of those places where integrity counts.

and ION -- my cat met a dog which he ignored and then got scared-- and climbed the higest point avalible -- my head. Missed my face, but I have holes in my head. then later , the cat go out - and matt fell on his bad shoulder. Cats cause pain

omnis, pursue. That's an order from a shy woman who can use M-16. - Shir

P-C, would the discussion of "why did you want a family here, and not back in India" lead to a "we wanted it better for you"? And then could you use that to say, "then why lock us into the old racist way of doing things?" or something more eloquent than that? I mean, really? Why raise kids in a multi-cultural society and NOT expect them to be, well, multi-cultural?

This sounds like it's the same book that I just got.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

Why raise kids in a multi-cultural society and NOT expect them to be, well, multi-cultural?

I think that completely ignores them wanting to keep their culture. Multicultural doesn't mean homogenized to me, at least.

I totally support P-C, BroCow and their sister finding spouses that they want to commit to, as I've said. But that's not something that is easy for their family.

I am not Indian, clearly, and have no idea what it is like to try to be both American and Indian but I don't think it should involve denying what is important from both.
