[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Her teachers took the blame - they told the kids to go through the alphabet to find words and that was the first letter she hit that wasn't already on the board.
But still.
Hahaha, Aimee. Did she have any idea what she was saying? Had she heard it on Mad Men or something?
See, I would guess that Em was just making up a word, going through the alphabet. I can't imagine she's ever heard anyone actually using the word.
but yes, as a parent, still embarassing
She had no clue. We don't have cable and I can't think of anything else she might have heard it on. The teachers said, "Technically, that is a word in the -ap family, but it's a nickname for Japanese and it's not a nice nickname and might make some friends uncomfortable, so we aren't going to use that one."
Em took it fine, which I was worried about cause she *HATES* being told she's wrong.
I worry about the one kid whose two words were "slap" and "Strap".
Good for the teachers.

Ellie struggles with this too. Actually, so do I. I still have to work hard to accept "you are wrong" with grace.
wrod.
Um, I'm all for "storming the castle" but certainly not expecting it on the first date. But hey, stranger things have happened. And yes, still waiting to hear final answer about Friday night from cute co-worker with awesome smile.

What Stephanie Said, Both Parts
Dylan frequently "makes up" embarrassing words when he's on a rhyming kick. We try not to draw attention to them.
