When did you hear?
About five? Honestly I saw on the NY Times. Talked to my mom around six but she was in the middle of the desert driving to a meeting so she didn't even know if her area was affected.
I am shocked at how little of a story it was too. The East Coast lost power eight years ago and it was top story... This happened and I couldn't find news most places. Which might be perception on my part but it was weird. Especially since it wasn't a particularly balmy day from what I saw.
Oh, Maria, I am so so sorry. We are here for you.
dammit. I was hoping for some good news, Maria. I'm really sorry.
Thanks, everyone. I don't know what to say either. I'm so far beyond numb it's scary.
Oh, no, sorella. We love you. We're here for you. You're allowed to be numb. You can react any way you need to or no way at all.
Maria, I am so very sorry.
It's just ugh. I can't even process right now.
You don't have to process. You don't have to do anything right this minute. Just be here, we're with you, we care about you.
I can't even process right now.
I call this stage The Zombie Walk. You just keep staggering forward. You don't have to feel anything right now. Just try to maintain some forward momentum.
