Buffy: He ran away, right? Giles: Sort of, more. turned and swept out majestically, I suppose. Said I didn't concern him. Buffy: So a mythic triumph over a completely indifferent foe? Giles: Well, I'm not dead or unconscious, so I say bravo for me.

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

Aims, uggh. I'm sorry.

Steph, how awful!! Rebuilding ~ma going out to the Alchemist and all the other flooded homes and businesses.

Magnolia keeps telling us aaaallllll about her adventures. Very loudly. She seems none the worse for wear, just dirty.

Today is the 6th anniversary of Katrina. I am spending it learning to drive a forklift.

No response to my email to StW yet. I hate the waiting part. Trying to be patient.

omnis, pursue. That's an order from a shy woman who can use M-16. - Shir

Some it's-nothing~ma for my dad. His EMT girlfriend took him to the ER last night with chest pains. The text said they don't think it was a heart attack. Will know more after tests are done.

Thrive to spite them

Steph I was just reading FreePress and saw the pictures of downtown Waterbury the first thing I thought of was the Alchemist. I'm glad there they have insurance.

There's also a picture of what used to be Elm St in Waterbury.

Here's some info with pictures [link]

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

askye, glad you're all right! Teppy, so sorry about The Alchemist, but glad they kept the flood insurance. Damn, it seems like the places that got hit by the tropical storm Irene are actually worse off than the places that got hit with hurricane Irene.

“Not dead yet!”

Damn, it seems like the places that got hit by the tropical storm Irene are actually worse off than the places that got hit with hurricane Irene.

That's what so many people don't get about storms of this nature-- it's often the aftermath, or what it spawns, that wreak the most havoc. Hurricanes are unpredictable bitches. Which is why I want to slap every New Yorker I see on the news complaining that Bloomberg and the gov't overreacted, nothing really happened, blah, blah, blah. It's like, dude, if tornadoes had formed and ripped through NYC? Trust me, you would not have been happy.

Steph, I'm so sorry about the Alchemist but really glad they had the flood insurance.

omnis, some it's nothing ~ma for your dad.

You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

Yay Magnolia. Stay home now, please.

Ugh so sorry about The Alchemist. Rebuilding~ma to Waterbury.

health~ma father-of-omnis. I hope it's just gas.

coping~ma, aims. You mentioned the facebook posts were passive-aggressive. I'm guessing they are not explicitly aimed at you. I have a FB 'friend' who is the queen of the passive-aggressive post. Probably some of her posts are directed at me but since she never gets specific, I have no way of knowing for sure, therefore I carry on with the assumption that NONE of them are. If she's not going to be specific, I'm not going to engage her. But then this is someone with whom I'm not really intestested in a true friendship.

You also said f2f they are treating Joe differently. If they're being cold to you and it's not just the FB and they can't see that even an Empress can make a mistake worth forgiving in order to continue to be friends with someone so awesome. Well then I agree, fuck 'em.

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

A friend of mine's been posting her experiences 6 years ago with evacuating, &tc, with Katrina, and just got to the part where, "August 29 th 2005. About 5 am i finally fell asleep after following the Katrina. I had only lost contact with my dad for about 2 hours during the hight of the winds. I had talked to him after the winds died down a little and beathed a sign of relief because only the garage had collapsed and the bar had lost part of the roof. We, like many in The city thought we had dodged a bullet. Damage like that could be fixed."

But, you know, not so much. It's not the event itself that only needs attention, it's everything surrounding it. It's not a question of this+ hurricane= or does not = disaster.

I look more rad than Lutheranism

There's also a picture of what used to be Elm St in Waterbury.

The corner of Elm and Main is where the Alchemist is. It's just out of frame on the bottom left of the picture.
