I was in Vegas ... 30 years ago, working at a conference my work place was putting on. We were at Caesar's Palace, which was a really good place for us. I discovered I don't have any taste at all for gambling. However, staff got comped to a show ... Tom Jones, I believe.

Spike's Bitches 46: Don't I get a cookie?
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
Liked Vegas(Anthony Bourdain needs to fucking lighten up...I'm from Phoenix and I still know "NY, NY" is not like New York for real. Duh. Next he'll tell me that isn't a real pyramid and my cosmology will be completely fucked...) Not a gambler.Although ironically, I fit the *profile* of a female gambler almost perfectly. Isolated, chronic condition, looking for excitement. I played on twenty dollars for a few hours, than thought "Why can't people stop doing this?" although I was on the smallest slots so neither won big nor picked up any vibe from fellow humans...maybe those are the attractions. ETA, though the conversation has moved on, I cannot say enough good things about Sensodyne toothpaste. Or my Water-Pik.
(Yes, D = Spidey... aren't we FB friends, omnis?)
yup, but I don't read it all that much.
It was really weird having the "are we going to change our 'relationship status'?" conversation.
That doberge cake sounds a lot like what we call a dobosh torte around here: [link] I used to love to make them when I was in high school, haven't tried one in years.
The Dean of my division has nominated me for a department administrator certificate program, I am totally chuffed. I'm hoping it means that they want me to replace someone that retired this year even though they were talking about not hiring a replacement. Keep your fingers crossed for me, it would be a significant boost in pay.
dobosh torte
that's it. I knew that I knew it but I couldn't think of it.
How did I miss that Sunday was national topless day?
How did I miss that Sunday was national topless day?
Do you normally look for it? If not, well, I can't imagine it gets much press.
It seems like the sort of thing the press would love. Especially the video editor in charge of blurring.
Yay ceiling fan. We live off ours. But we have the desert day/night swing to help us out. It's 80 out but 70 in without air conditioning right now. We had the windows open all night and closed them in the morning and it's nice and comfy now.
Ooh, good for you, Sail!
Sail, that sounds wonderful!
