Dawn: I thought you were adequate. Giles: And the accolades keep pouring in. I'd best take my leave before my head swells any larger. Good night.

Spike's Bitches 46: Don't I get a cookie?

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

Ack. I told roomie I'd held the kitty, and she got upset because she hadn't yet and she wants kitty to bond with her. Which I should have thought of, but didn't - I was thinking more in terms of general human socialization. And now I feel like an ass.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

Oy. After a week of emails back and forth with the publisher, we've now got a PDF to hand out to the students, listing the nine different options they have for buying the textbook. (Paper, eBook, hybrid, with or without different online things, the one that covers two semesters of calculus or the one that covers three semesters, etc.) And the students who already bought the book that the bookstore stocks will either have to return it or pay an extra $100 to get all the online pieces they need. I think my "I can't teach" breakdown is going to be delayed by a day, because the first day of class will mostly be taken up with explaining how to get the book.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

Kitty bonding isn't a one-shot deal - some cats are more one-personish than others, but even if she's one of those, it'll take multiple snuggle sessions (and your roomie will have plenty of chances). You want her happy and relaxed with both of you, and you haven't kitty-blocked the roomie in one round, I promise!

I know. I just felt bad about it and I'm feeling pretty sensitive at the moment. I think we're all good now. And I"m over at Nora and Tom's now.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

I have a cold and it ate my last spoon.

Tea:

In less whiny news, I have found a way to stay in touch with my teenage nephew, finally. He won't use facebook and he barely speaks if you call him, but he apparently loves to text. He texted me out of the blue the other day about something Doctor Who related, which just made my day. And just now I was able to text him about his first day of school tomorrow. He's going to be a sophomore in high school, which seems unpossible.

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

A friend called the other night and put me on the phone with a community theatre director who is directing a show with a black female character. She apparently was having a hard time finding people to auditions, so he called me. I went to the audition cold the next day (hadn't read the script, didn't have anything prepared) and she told me that she wanted to see me at callbacks.

So, I'm trying to decide if I want to do the show. I enjoy acting, and it seems like a fun show (called, "Loose Knit", described as "Sex and the City with knitting").

Cons: 45 minute drive when it's not rush hour, and rehearsals would start at 7:30. With, of course, the attendant gas costs Also, $1.25 toll each way. Also, another house manager just quit, so there's the opportunity for me to pick up some of those shifts, which means money, but would also be hard to work around for rehearsal purposes.

Plus, if I get a job, I might not be able to do the show and would have to bail later.

Ugh. I would enjoy actually doing the show, but the attendant issues are a bitch.

I'm thinking I'm not going to go to callbacks,

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

Going to see Taz in a few- he may be able to have the catheter removed today! And if his urethra healed up without narrowing, this could be the end of this whole saga!

Urethrea~ma (hee!) appreciated...

Compassionately intolerant

Oh my, end of the saga ~ma in buckets for Taz, Nora. Bless his beleaguered bits.

Vortex, it sounds like a great validation, but a complex choice. My first impulse would be to not take the role, despite the potential fun and 'enlivening' during a difficult time

It just seems like the effort, expense and distraction would be a lot to manage while looking for a new gig.

It's cool that they want you though!

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

Go, Team Pee! Anti-inflamed-urethra~ma for Taz.

Vortex, bonny has said what I was thinking, only much better. You are awesome, and it's always good when other people see it.

sj, wishing you the chance to get plenty of fluids, plenty of rest, and that your spoons replenish themselves soon.
