Early: So is it still her room when it's empty? Does the room, the thing, have purpose? Or do we -- what's the word? Simon: I really can't help you. Early: The plan is to take your sister. Get the reward, which is substantial. 'Imbue.' That's the word.

Spike's Bitches 46: Don't I get a cookie?

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

We found this book very helpful: [link]

It gives you a way to organize when to clean what and lots of time-saving tips. He's quite bossy and thinks his way is the only way, but I just ignore that part. It really helped me clean faster and more efficiently, so I have to spend less time doing it.

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

I don't get the shoes thing either. My dislike of the shoes and clothes is one reason I work at home. Also, when my mother still had the energy, she was a housecleaning machine. The woman used to wash walls. She habitually did all her housework in her pajamas, then got dressed. Sometimes that was at 3 p.m., but she would have done more cleaning in that amount of time than I do in a month.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

Seconding Scrappy's book rec, which I had totally spaced the title of! It's actual techniques and advice on tackling cleaning things in a quickie pass vs a more thorough job, with no glurge about how you obviously have no self-respect if you don't keep things clean for your man. I should dig it out from under whatever pile of clutter it lives in.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

FlyLady minus eye-roll-y stuff equals BatLady [link]

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

Purple puddles are happy tears. I like the shiny sink, I think because it's easier to talk myself into cooking food if there's not already a pile of nasty dishes to deal with.

I am going to have to check out Batlady! And the book rec.

Thrive to spite them

There were a couple of cleaning/organizing books in with the others I got off freecycle. Speed Cleaning book was one of them and the How Clean is Your House book.

I guess the idea behind wearing lace up shoes is that you are wearing actual clothes versus pjs and slippers. Or something. I don't like wearing shoe, esp in the summer. So I'll only wear shoes sneakers if I have to wash dishes or cook (if I'm barefoot my legs/hips start to hurt. I really want a gel cushion pad for the kitchen).

Trust my rage

I have a black sink of some sort. I love that it needs no polishing

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

I don't polish my sink, I just give it a quick wipe and then dry it. Keeps the Lutherans from breeding.

oh joy! Oh Rapture ! I have a brain!

DH really cleaned the house yesterday ( house concert last night ) while I was walking 19 miles. I'd like to keep it closer to this condition - so I just order speed cleaning - because that is part of what i need is some efficiency. Home comforts gave me the idea of schedules - Fly lady gave me a lot of the break it down to small parts and I have a system that worked well when I worked part time, but I need some new ideas for full time

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

I just had potato kale soup with chorizo. Really good. And leftovers will be lunch tomorrow, so I don't need to make anything else for that.
