Spike's Bitches 46: Don't I get a cookie?

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

This looks like a job for the buffistas!

I don't even know where to begin with that, but it looks amazing.

I'm not a big fan of dill, ordinarily, but Hec's recent experiments have been shockingly (like, lick-the-bowl) delicious.

All sorts of vibes to Barb's kids and HULK-SMASH~ma to whoever ends up speaking to Incompetent!Weaselly!Agent's boss and delivering total smiteage.

And migraine-and-period-coping~ma to Zen and Pix and anyone else who needs it, and eyeball~ma to Todd, and a million other ~mas to everyone else, and now I have to go again because the new job continues to kick my ass. In a good way, since I can't even remember how long it's been since I last used this much of my brain at work, but still in a massively timeconsuming way.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Mom and I went shopping today because I wanted some things that would pack easily for going to the UK in the fall. I bought this

this

And this

And I didn't end up paying anywhere near full price for any them.

Thanks, Barb! I have been drooling over it online for quite some time.

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

oomphectomy

Is that a thing, or just that you forgot what goes before "ectomy"?

I apologize for the TMI, y'all.

I posted pictures of the fibroids that had been removed from my body. I don't think that we recognize the concept. BTW, when I showed the pic to my PCP, his response was "OH MY GOD"

These recipes all would be better if you removed the actual egg from the equation.

Amen. I'm not a huge fan of eggs without a carpet of cheese, but runny eggs? shudder.

Hivemind, I'm emailing a guy that I interviewed with a few years ago who really liked me (enough to call me a year later when a position came open that he thought I'd be good for). I said this:

Hello [Contact]! I hope that you are well.

I'm writing because [University] has recently experienced a round of mandatory downsizing, and unfortunately, I was caught in it. I had just been brought in to the Law School to revitalize the LL.M. program when the RIF occurred. I am reaching out to all of my contacts for advice and any suggestions for possibilities in legal education.

If you would like, we could meet for coffee or lunch at your convenience.

Thanks in advance for any assistance that you might be able to offer.

Sincerely,

[Vortex]

Is the lunch/coffee suggestion too pushy? Also, what should the subject line of the email be? (I hate email subject lines, just open the damned thing)

Trust my rage

I thought maybe the "oo" meant ovary? But I'm totally guessing.

Trust my rage

And I don't think it's pushy at all. I think it's just a polite way of saying "I want to talk to you".

Maybe "reaching out" or "checking in" or yeah...I hate subject lines too.

For the trifecta - What do we think of this picture? [link]

I'm going to be making the file room in my office a semi-baby nursery. The baby will spend about 6 months here hanging out with me (yay, self-employment). The rest of the office is decorated with art from all over the world. Nothing expensive, but stuff I've liked.

I'm looking for mother/baby stuff to put in the new nursery that is actual art and NOT cutsy. I have a native american mother/baby sculpture that I love and I want to put that photo on the wall. I really like the picture, but it's not quite "art" - well, it is but I wasn't originally picturing photos.

I'm also looking at [link] but I like the Ghana picture better and [link] but a) it's a print and smaller and b) not many clients will be in this room but I'm still just a little bit (but really, just a little bit) uncomfortable with a nipple on my wall.
