sounds to me like travel agent needs to bend over backwards (including having the agency pay for new tix) to get your kids where they need to go.
Yes, something along these lines would go quite a ways towards soothing the savage beast. They didn't even have an emergency number-- I'm actually feeling quite angry at myself, to tell you the truth. I thought I was doing something good, helping to support a local, neighborhood business, but if this is the result, well... not gonna happen again, lemme tell you.
I did, in fact, curse myself with my post last night about sleeping well. I slept like crap last night. I can't help wondering if it was because I got 3 good nights' sleep in a row.
But, I figure if I'm tired enough today, I'll sleep well tonight. (I'd BETTER sleep well tonight.)
I think we need to get a memory-foam topper or something for the bed, because sometimes I have a terrible time getting comfortable, and that makes it hard to sleep. Hell, it might just be time for a new mattress. I can't remember how old Tim's mattress is.
Apparently, the travel agency is mystified... mystified, I tell you, that we want them to fix this little issue.
::snarl::
Barb - you ask so much. Did you expect them to assume that when you bought a ticket, you actually wanted the kids to fly somewhere?

WTF? Is she her own boss or does she have a higher up you can scream at talk to?
Uggh, Barb. That is just ridiculous!!
First day of work is going great! Meeting people and reading policies. THEY HAVE POLICIES. This is exciting to me. Compared to, you know, That Other Place.
How long has this place been in business? What do they think travel agencies do?

Tep, I love mine! I got it at Target. Surprisingly affordable.

Jeepers, Barb. Have they been in business long? Do they want to be? Tell them that you'll report their carelessness and their reluctance to fix their mistake to the BBB, the Chamber of Commerce, Angie's List, and every local business review website.
This is what I don't get-- they've been in business for twenty-five years, they're an AmEx approved agency-- it's not as if I didn't do my due diligence and yet at the same time, I can't help but feel as if I fucked up miserably. The last we heard, they were trying to get them on the same flight they would have been on last night, but leaving tomorrow night, which means they'd lose two days of their visit with their grandparents, since they've got other visitors coming in from out of town right after the kids leave.
Good thing Lewis and I didn't have any plans to go out of town while the kids were gone. Not that the travel agency is aware of that-- if necessary, I will get my best Meryl Streep on and give them some DRAHMA.
