Mine is chatty to the extreme (ChiKat has said she's never met a more talkative cat), but she wasn't like that at the shelter. She never made a peep there, but started bitching as soon as I put her in the carrier to take her home, and she hasn't shut up in the seven years since.
ETA: This morning, she jumped onto my bed for some skritches while I was getting ready for work. I looked over at her and said, "If you only had opposable thumbs and could type, I'd send you to work for me today. You're certainly smart enough."

Le N, do a search online for local merchants and smudging sage, sage bundles, or smudging sticks.
I'm reduced to ordering online, because there's no one local that I've been able to find who carries it.
