Spike's Bitches 46: Don't I get a cookie?

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

First, get a black light and shine it in as dark circumstances as you can. The urine stains will glow yellow. The intensity of the glow will let you know how intense the saturation is.

So we need to use the black light in the dark to figure out if there are urine stains? (Why yes, our household just got a black light flashlight, 'cos we suspect the elder girlcat is getting a tiny bit senile about the litter box.)

You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

I would subscribe to the smonster/erin newsletter.

Maaaaan, I really do not want to walk around our basement in the dark. But if that's the only way to see if Trin is ignoring the litter box, I guess I have to.

It's like you've watched more than one horror movie.

I could share my friend Sue's Peace Corps stories from Senegal in the late 80s. They're pretty amazing.

Hey, deep in my soul is still a buried archaeologist... who spent a summer digging in a midden and found a lot of coprolites.

Zen, I begin to wonder if we were separated at birth. I spent hte summer before my senior year of high school on a dig in northwestern Pennsylvania, and I still regret not having gone after it as a job. Sure, I'd probably never have gotten a job, but the classes would have made me happy.

Kinda, yeah. Also, the basement is where the spiders are.

Le N - re: diabetes. 1) don't fight the med s-- even if you go off them , you will go back on them . NOT YOUR FAULT. Despite EVERYTHING you read -it is a progressive disease. You can't control it, only influence it. This does not mean give up - because the better you care for yourself, the better you will feel. The better /healthier you are the better you will handle stress - all stress physical and emotion al mess with your blood sugar.

find out what kind of a person you are. some people have to deny food X . others limit . For me, I do best when counting grams of carbohydrates. I find it is easier to say no thanks to really junky food. But I get really tired of counting and can't do it all the time.

Move every day. not mega exercise - but something, the more you move the big muscles the better your body works.

pay attention. My blood sugar get crazy with pizza -- but not as bad if I skip the meat. I know some one else that it doesn't make much difference at all. Everyone is way more different than any book suggests

now, I don't love this disease. But I am healthier now than I was before it. Blood sugar control is awesome - seriously Food used to call to me from miles away ( the only reason that is literal is because food does not have a voice) 98% of the food that I ate, but didn't really enjoy are gone from my diet .

on the other hand I hate asthma

The potato is my worst enemy and greatest weakness. I so adore mashed potatoes, and potatoes love my blood sugar. Dammit.
