Spike's Bitches 46: Don't I get a cookie?

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

Are they any worse than the Gillette commercials from a few years ago?

Yes.

Those were facepalmy as hell but this raises the offensiveness by miles.

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

I don't watch commercials very often, and stopped reading Racialicious because it was raising my blood pressure.

Just read an email from my boss asking me to call him tomorrow for a chat with HR. Another colleague on main campus mentioned layoffs, so I'm a little nervous. It could be that they don't have my performance eval stuff from last year, which is totally my fault.

Ooh, good luck vortex. And yeah, I get the blood pressure thing--I can't listen to the news these days.

Ack, I hope it's a simple thing, Vortex.

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

Echoing the nothing~ma, Vortex.

I went and was productive in a coffee shop while StW studied, and then we went across the street to the bar and had a drink. Still adorbs. It's funny, he's the introvert (and emotionally reserved) and I'm the extrovert (and very open, as y'all know), but he does more talking and I do more listening, in general, when we're together. I think he likes having a non-doctor to talk to, and I've become a better listener over the years. His recent ex was there, too, with a guy. They waved on their way out.

Seeing StW definitely improved my mood. Also, the PMS should be waning, and I sent my resume out to a few places tonight. I'm proud of staying productive despite my shitty mood the last couple of days.

brillig

So Hubby called the cardiac folks to enquire if they'd perhaps deign to let him know if I was likely to keel over stone dead in the next few weeks or so. As he told me they told him, "For someone your age, in your shape, with your health, your heart is what they want to see."

Which kind of sounds like, "Considering your car was blown up, hit by a train, and fell off a cliff, it's in terrific shape!" but I'm going to assume that my heart's doing pretty well and some time spent on the recumbent bike at the gym is not only not contra-indicated but pretty damned well encouraged.

All is well that ends in pizza.

The world's narrowest house. (Proposed)

Ack! Mental claustrophobia!

move out and draw fire

I've been keeping a log, and in the last couple months I've had about 10 days where I wasn't suffering from a headache. The one I have now, that I've had for 4 days, is particularly nasty and won't let me sleep. Also, my sense of taste is way wonky - things either have no flavor or the wrong one.

I'm not going to google, b/c I'll just freak myself out, but is this too stupid of a thing to see the doctor about? I'm at the point where I'm actually considering it, but I don't want them to be "yeah, it's a headache. Take Tylenol and deal with it."
