Ah, a candle where you set your superhero's head on fire. That's right up there with Barney pinatas for childhood party trauma (and adult entertainment).
Spike's Bitches 46: Don't I get a cookie?
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
That Batman's such a hot head!
The burn on my leg is starting to blister, and I can't stop poking at it. I need one of those dog cones or something to put over my leg.
Hil, if you don't go to the doctor, I recommend Spenco Second Skin fastened with waterproof tape. It's an occlusive dressing and will keep the skin clean and moist while it heals.
Flaming Batman head
"I'm melllltinngg!!!
It really doesn't hurt much at all anymore, so going to a doctor seems weird. "Yeah, hi, this hurt for a little while, and now it doesn't hurt but people keep wincing when they look at it." I'll take a look at that Second Skin stuff.
It might not hurt because you burned the nerves. Doesn't neccessarily mean it's not something a pro should check.
I second the open wound dressing recommendation, it really speeds up the healing.
Also, Hil, here's what the Mayo Clinic has to say about burns - sounds like yours is a 2nd degree burn. [link]
Yeah, it's definitely second degree. I've had these before. I'll follow what it says there and go to the doctor if it looks like it's getting infected. Right now, it mostly just looks like a really weird cattle brand.
Nora, I made the roasted okra recipe. I overcooked them a bit, but pretty good! Still a wee touch of slime. I think I may use the rest to make an okra quesadilla tomorrow. I'm definitely going to have to freeze some of my produce, or it will go bad.
Yeah, I think in the case of burns, "not hurting" is actually not a good thing if it looks bad...
I seem to have done something weird to my arm. I scraped my fingers trying to get teh top off a bottle of ginger beer at the farmers market, and then bought bandaids for my fingers. So when I got home and my hand felt tingly, I thought "hmm, did I put the bandaids on too tight??" but no, it's now my whole arm feeling weird and unpleasant and tingly, and I don't know what i did to it or how to make it stop. Do not want. Have been holding arm in all sorts of contortionist positions to try to make it stop (doesn't really help, but if the muscles are going 'HEY! HEY! WHAT?" it takes precedence in my brain)
