Spike's Bitches 46: Don't I get a cookie?

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Aims! You poor thing; that sounds awful. I hope the meds keep helping with the pain and that you heal quickly.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

I think I cannot bitch that my arm hurts cause I just got my whooping cough and tetanus vax re-upped. Well I could bitch but I'd look stupid.

Frankly I'd be more worried about the HIPAA violation.

Go Emmeline! At that age I would have been completely useless.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

Dude, we have to shut down b.org cause of the HIPAA violations. Am I the reason we can't have nice things?

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

My doctor just called me back from her home number, so she is off the list for now. It took some persuading on my part, but she is going to call my PT's supervisor in the morning and confirm that the supervisor is in agreement with the PT that "there is nothing more they can do for me". My doctor also offered me the option of going to another PT at another facility. Calmer now.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

Aims, YIKES!

sj, good on your doctor. But this shouldn't be such a mess to deal with.

Dude, we have to shut down b.org cause of the HIPAA violations. Am I the reason we can't have nice things?

YOU GUYS. YOU DON'T EVEN.

I got to work this morning and started badmouthing Insurance Agent, and as it turns out, the co-worker (name of P.) whose medical information he shared with me ALSO got a phone call from him at home Thursday night! She wasn't home, though, so she just got a 5-minute (literally) message from him.

I assume he called her because she's been having a problem with a claim, and in dealing with it, she's -- reasonably so -- been talking to Big!Boss's daughter about it. (Rather than to Insurance Agent.) Soooo...

The message Insurance Agent left P. was basically the same thing, word for word, that he told me (i.e., "You have to understand that you are NOT ALLOWED to talk to [Big!Boss's daughter] about your medical issues or she can get sued, the company can get sued, and she'll lose the company!"

We decided he must have written it down before he called us.

I was trying to be tactful, so I just said that he followed up his threats about not talking to anyone about my health by telling me about a co-worker's medical claim, and P. asked, "Was it me?" I told her it was, and she was surprisingly not enraged. Not particularly happy with him, but not homicidal the way I would have been.

I told P. that I was going to talk to Big!Boss's daughter, and she asked, "Can I be in on it?" So we talked to Big!Boss's daughter, who ALSO got calls from Insurance Agent over the weekend. At which point I asked, "Let me guess -- he told you that if your employees come to you with medical issues, you have to run screaming from the room or you'll get sued, the company will get sued, and you'll lose the company?"

So -- she's furious at him, and is having him come in later this week for a meeting. I do not know if it's a fire-the-man meeting, or just a get-your-act-together meeting. Frankly, the man is incapable of getting his act together. She also told me that she's going to call the agent for Tim's company, so possibly we really will ditch the dude.

I would say I'm gobsmacked at his behavior, but...I'm really not. He's an ass.

If you are lying, it is best to keep your story straight.

and P. asked, "Was it me?" I told her it was, and she was surprisingly not enraged. Not particularly happy with him, but not homicidal the way I would have been.

I'd have been livid. Like, formally reporting the HIPAA violation to HHS livid.
