[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

The only thing they found to deal with it was Rifampin, a tuberculosis medication.

Hey, that's what I'm on for my collection of medical problems!

Occasionally I’m callous and strange

{{{{Trudy and Dallas}}}}

In medically convenient news, my troubled 15 yo sis who was slated for a summer of outward bound intervention program canoeing in Minnesota came down with Mono. So now she's spending the summer sitting on the sofa watching Buffy (glad i sent her the full series!) and whingeing about not being able to use the computer without an adult in the room with her. And now her Mom is peeved that she doesn't want to work at the family hardware store...i did point out that folks suffering from Mono generally do spend most of their waking time on the sofa, cranky teenager or not.

And in Banging-my-head-on-the-desk news , i seem to have signed myself up for another try at police dispatch training. the training program that broke me last year. the training program that left me crying myself to sleep for countless nights and still has me doubting and second guessing my abilities. But dangit, i don't want to be the gal that failed...and certainly not the gal who failed twice, and i'm really doubting whether i should go through with it or just stay in the calltaker only classification (less pay, no room for advancement, the irritation of talking to citizens All The Time.) *sigh* Choices, sometimes they are hard.

But hey, i still have running water! Hot and cold! Life is good in this century ;)

And i just found out that my sister's mom had never heard of the Spoon Theory. Seriously. Even after the month of college i spent living with her and my dad during a severe FMS flare up so bad i couldn't walk up the steps to my apartment...i am SHOCKED. She has been forwarded links.

When I had mono I also had a full-time job and very little sick leave. On weekdays, aside from the 20 minute commute, 8 hours at work, and maybe 20 minutes to shower and eat, I was asleep. I even slept through my lunch hour. On weekends I slept more. Mono just wiped me out.

Oh, and Laga, you can get cheap silicone or foam earplugs at any drugstore, usually in the same aisle as ear lavages and contact solution.

Thrive to spite them

I just had an encounter with my landlady's daughter and her (roommate's son - I think it's her roommate's son) anyway they play in the drive right by the window where I'm sitting now. The cats get up there and they are always commenting on the cats.

So I asked them over, and then put the cats in the porch, closed the door and introduced them. Maddie was patient, Dean was freaked out and tried to hide. But both the kids got to pet the cats and the cats were a little less freaked out.

Dean jumped to a high window and one of them said "Super Kitty! From outer space it's SUPER KITTY"

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

Back from the surgery, been back for a while, had a nap when I got back. I have very little pain (possibly the motrin), but I am FULL OF GAS. and it's rather unpleasant. Any thoughts for natural remedies? I'm drinking ginger ale and have a heating pad on it, but thought I'd try the hivemind. I'm out of baking soda, dammit

Thanks for the ~ma and good wishes.

Glad things went well! Sorry there's some unpleasantness. I can't think of a natural remedy.

Uh, I don't know how much of an option is is post-surgery, but the whole bicycling a baby's legs while it is on its back? Works for adults to. Or just drawing your knees to your chest while lying down.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Happy birthday, Seska!

Glad the surgery went well, Vortex! Sorry about the residual issues.

Hooray for working indoor plumbing, smonster!

You know what's annoying? Random texts from needy acquaintances who are all "I got a vibe you were mad at me. Did I do something wrong?"

People who take everything personally drive me nuts too. Is this the sort of person who simply will not believe that everything you do in her presence is not, in fact, about her? "Are you SURE you're not mad at me?"
