This is awesome.
Tonight is the first time in 10 years I have been home for the 4th. I love me some fireworks, but I just wasn't in the mood.
Bartleby has some pretty fierce sound aversion. On our walk, he got super freaked out with just a few booms.
When we got home, I gave him two Bach Flower Remedies (Aspen & Mimulus), turned up the AC to mask the sound and cool him down.
The National fireworks show is on right now...less than 2 miles from here. I can hear every bang.
Bartleby is sound asleep.
SCORE!!
There are fireworks going off like gangbusters in my neighborhood, has been for the last hour and a half or so. It's EXTREMELY annoying.
I am not watching fireworks, I am instead watching ST:TNG on Netflix On Demand. I just sobbed my face off at "Inner Light" and now watching "Rascals" for comic relief.
Also watched "All Good Things," which always cracks me up with future crusty cranky old man Picard.
Yep, it's still boomin' out there and Bartleby is chillin' like Bob Dylan.
I would think about going to bed early, but there is probably no point until at least midnight.
Fireworks have been going on all day. After dark I'll go for a walk and laugh as I pass under the "Illegal fireworks use will be prosecuted" sign.
Yeah, i laugh at those too. Prosecuted by who, exactly?
Yeah, erika, survivor's guilt sucks. But I'm glad to hear that you're doing so well health-wise. There's no bad in that.
future crusty cranky old man Picard.
I was just thinking about him today! Crotchety old guy tending the grapes.
And just as a quick rule of thumb...
good reasons to call 911 tonight:
something on fire (other than a firecracker fuse)
someone needs an ambulance
people fighting
bad reasons to call 911:
someone somewhere is setting of fireworks and they are loud
Illegal fireworks are a great reason to call your non-emergency police line and wait on hold interminably with an ever growing sense of futility.
