Yeah, i laugh at those too. Prosecuted by who, exactly?
Spike's Bitches 46: Don't I get a cookie?
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
Yeah, erika, survivor's guilt sucks. But I'm glad to hear that you're doing so well health-wise. There's no bad in that.
future crusty cranky old man Picard.
I was just thinking about him today! Crotchety old guy tending the grapes.
And just as a quick rule of thumb...
good reasons to call 911 tonight: something on fire (other than a firecracker fuse) someone needs an ambulance people fighting
bad reasons to call 911: someone somewhere is setting of fireworks and they are loud
Illegal fireworks are a great reason to call your non-emergency police line and wait on hold interminably with an ever growing sense of futility.

He is MADE OF AWESOME.
I wonder how much money all these hardworking families are spending on fireworks.

It's their PATRIOTIC DUTY!
I can see some fireworks from my patio. That's good enough. I didn't feel like going to the park and hanging out. It's raining, and there are people there. I'm comfy in my living room, watching Stephen Fry Does America without a hint of irony in my soul.
bonny, I'm so glad. I know that's a huge relief, to have found something that works for B-Boy to keep him calm.
So, that was a delightful evening. St. Woot is loving Firefly - we ordered pizza so we could keep watching - a boy after my own heart. Then we drove to the Marigny, parked near his place and wandered down to the levee, near the cruise boat piers. We had a great view of the fireworks, and only one annoying drunk chick behind us, who managed to be mostly entertaining. It was a pretty good display, and then we wandered through the quarter and managed to run into my very very drunk friend L*, the one I need to have a possibly awkward convo with, that will now be possibly more awkward that she's met St. W. Or less, who knows. Anyway, we went and got gelato, and then wandered back to his truck and he took me home.
tl:dr - I continue to like him very much, and he seems to like me a lot, too.
End of the night convo -
Me: You gonna call me?
St.W: I was going to call you today, I swear, you just beat me to it!
Me: Yeah, I got a little impatient.
St.W: I like that you got impatient.
He has a full time job (I should look into getting one of those) and he's studying for his boards, so he's a busy boy and I expect I will continue to experience some impatience, but now I feel more confident and can relax a bit. I have been scrutinizing pretty much every utterance for asshole flags, and have yet to find any. Fingers crossed.
* small. town.
Also, Kate, welcome back! Can't wait to hear stories and see pics. I hope your hot water is restored very soon! I used you and your DH as an example tonight of folks who met on OKC. You and Dan, too, Erin!
* small. town.
Ahahahaha! Yeah. So true.
Glad you had a good day!
We chilled pretty hard. I slept till around almost noon and then we watched some QI and Futurama. Then went to our friends' restaurant for grilled burgers & stuff, and then back home where we deployed "the cloud" (i.e., folding out the futon so we could both lie on it with pillows, etc) and watched Star Trek TNG.
We also made an easy pasta/tomato/goat cheese dinner and then prepped for tomorrow's crockpot carnitas experiment.
We'd done chores and stuff on Saturday so it felt OK to really just burrow in. Man, I cannot wait till vacation.
