Wash: Little River just gets more colorful by the moment. What'll she do next? Zoe: Either blow us all up or rub soup in our hair. It's a toss-up. Wash: I hope she does the soup thing. It's always a hoot, and we don't all die from it.

Spike's Bitches 46: Don't I get a cookie?

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

Oh, and if it's dinged or broken, he's going to fix it.

I know this one! "I can USE it in something! I swear!"

ION, I will be impressed if I make it out of vacation alive. First there was (1) the wildfire (which is ongoing -- more than 40 square miles are burning, and it's about 70% contained), which has created lousy air quality, which I suspect may have contributed to (2) the cold. The sore throat is mostly gone, but now I have a cough and a tight chest. Earlier this week was the (3) holy-shit-I-might-go-to-Urgent-Care painful back, which has subsided. And today I have (4) a serious sunburn on my back. ONLY my back. (Guess who put sunscreen on my back? And did a CRAP job of it? Hint: MY BOYFRIEND.)

I assume that tomorrow will involve an airplane falling out of the sky onto me, or possibly spontaneous combustion. Sheesh.

It's not a *bad* vacation, but I really can't wait to be home in our little house where it's just the 2 of us in our quiet routine and sleeping in our own bed.

We have gotten in some righteous games of Zombies, though, along with nighttime kite flying and fun in the surf. I finished one book (Crocodile on the Sanbank, thank you Jilli for the rec) and started another (South of Broad, the newest Pat Conroy at his florid best), and caught up on a lot of my comic books (Red Robin and Superboy continue to be my OTP).

But I'm ready to be home.

I know. I am pissed off as memories of last year's horrible summer have come flooding back. BUT. I will not be sick for 3 freaking months like I was last year. Cause this year? Doctor.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

I was going to go for a bike ride this morning, but I'm still coughing a bit from the cold I had last week, so maybe a bike ride isn't the best idea. I don't really feel like dealing with an asthma attack today.

I really should try to clean the front room of my apartment today. The first floor of my apartment has three rooms -- there's a room where you first walk in, then a second room where I've got my couch and TV, and then the kitchen. The front room currently has my desk, keyboard, and some bookcases, and a space where I play to put a loveseat, but it's also kind of become the room where everything that doesn't belong anywhere else ends up. I really do need to try to make it presentable, since it's the first room that people see when they come in.

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

smonster, one of my favorite cartoons showed a not-quite-awake woman having breakfast and her two cats; one cat says to the other that its favorite meal is breakfast - you never know if you're going to get Kitty Bits or chunk light tuna in spring water.

And I had an encounter with a neighbor and her dog - they live across the hall from me, so I see them fairly often and usually pet the dog and scratch behind his ears. He's a big, floofy white dog, one brown eye, one blue, very friendly. He saw me and perked up - ears up, tail wagging, ran over to me ... then smelled something interesting, stopped to sniff, then headed back to me, let me get in one pat, then ran off in another direction. His person's comment? "He has a very small brain."

Apparently sharing an article on facebook from another site fixed my facebook issue. Technology is weird.
