Thanks, Jess. I took a look, and they don't have quite what I'm looking for.
I've got a bit of free time on Thursday. Maybe I'll take a look at some furniture stores and antique stores then. I really should stop looking now, though, because my ankle is hurting and it's just making me annoyed at everything.
Hil, is the important factor style or size?
Hil, is the important factor style or size?
Ah, the eternal question...
Well, I'm looking for a drop-leaf table that folds up small enough to not take up too much space but can open up big enough that I can use it for sewing or board games or whatever. And I really like the ones with some drawers or cabinets underneath, because my place is really low on storage. And I need it to look OK with the furniture I have, which is mostly vintage medium-dark wood in relatively simple designs.
This come in birch, but couldn't you stain it a darker color?

That IKEA one is actually where I started this search, with "That's what I want ... but darker." It's got a polyurethane finish, so I don't think I could stain it without a lot of work.
Ginger, that one is a possibility. I just added it to my watch list.
Is this too small? [link]
Maybe in black? [link]
Happy birthday, billytea!
Gah. Several hours of family drama detour today. I started the day in pain and will end it in more due to that BS. The odd thing is that I'm so often a pessimist yet I must be an optimist when it comes to my family because I keep expecting things to be more sane & healthy than they are.
Oh well. Yesterday I transplanted raspberries to larger planters. I also put a mess o' office supplies away. Today I dealt with finding space for my LPs and CD folder albums. More of the floor is visible.
