Wash: Captain, didn't you know kissin' girls makes you sleepy? Mal: Well sometimes I just can't help myself.

Spike's Bitches 46: Don't I get a cookie?

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

I joined a jewelry making community on LJ, and they've mentioned selling things on Etsy. I keep buying beads and things to make necklaces with, and while the dragon-horde-builder in me screams "All the pretties for me!" there's also the thought that I can't wear everything and it might be fun to try and sell one or two things. Is there any kind of volume expectation on Etsy? If you've got one or two things, is it reasonable to put them on there? Getting over the desire to horde everything to myself is my own psychological issue that I won't trouble anyone with.

I knew I forgot something.

Happy belated birthday, bt! And many more years of happiness and wit to you and your family.

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

I need to lose some weight. My interview clothes were uncomfortably tight.

I think working would help with that, though. I have unemployment weight.

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

Truth! My aging process has surpassed another integer value (yesterday). I was rewarded with a working lunch on my day off and a twice-vomiting baby (my own genetic legacy, not some random ralphing infant). But the lunch was tasty and my wife gave me an expansion set to my favourite card game.

I also received birthday greetings from my brothers. The first one:

"Happy birthday. Look up alf stewart on you tube to find out all about his rape dungeon."

Not a common feature of birthdays past, though I have been watching a lot of Criminal Minds lately.

The other brother got me (as a belated 40th birthday present) tickets to the 2011 Australian Open grand final. That's good brothering. He did add: "By the way, I'm including two thirds of the money that I owe you, but you weren't expecting to see that again, were you?" But I'm pretty sure he did at least perform the ticketing service.

Finally, I leave you with this exchange from a TV show last night:

"What should we get for Australia's endangered animals?"
"A GIANT WOK!"

Isn't that how he celebrated Mother's Day, too?

Happy birthday!

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

Happy birthday, billytea!

Heh. I know that my mom is bored and also good at research, so I emailed her to ask if she wanted a project, and sent a link to an IKEA table that was almost what I wanted, but not quite, and asked if she could find one that was what I wanted. She responded with a bunch of links -- two of them seem promising, but still not quite right -- and then asked if there are any Amish carpenters near me. So now I think she's trying to figure out if Amish carpenters will make custom tables, and if so, if they advertise this fact online.
