canned tomatoes and black beans as well.
Canned goods in general but canned beans in particular were my You Must Be Kidding Me in terms of stealth sodium. And I didn't notice because I was trying to be aware of sodium. I was tracking my eating habits with a program that calculated it for me and I was stunned.
WF had a couple brands that were salt free and then I saw the Goya with salt with a zillion mg of sodium.
Does it help if you rinse?
So....I'm in Roswell. It's hot. Really hot. And yet? Still more comfortable to me than Virginia.
And this part of NM at least isn't on fire.
Statistics say rinsing reduced sodium by 40% to 60%. I have no idea of how to tell if the result is on the high end or low end, so always count rinsed beans as having 40% less sodium than the label to be on the safe side.
In other health news - got an extremely painful large cyst on my stomach. Doctor cut it open to drain and will remove once it heals and hardens so they don't have to do surgery on something mushy. Unsurprisingly, though this will give relief in the long run, immediately is still painful.
Dear Typo Boy's body:
Give him a fucking break.
I hope you got the good drugs, at least.
Holy Crehole, Gar. That's a lotta cut and excising on the flesh lately.
So....I'm in Roswell.
Raq, in Roswell, with the Trampoline!
Ugh Typo, that's an owie. I can say that I had a cyst removed and I can say that the surgery itself should be a breeze (as long as you don't have a sensitivity to local anesthetics--oops!).
Wishing you surgery soon, Typo.
Ouch!
Does it help if you rinse?
I do not know.
I was all happily hanging out platonically with an ex tonight and the weather went from hot and oppressive to cool and raining like the god's required a liquid sacrifice.
