Your dad sounds pretty badass to me!
Like, Atticus badass.
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

I am not objective, but yeah, my dad was a total badass!
Bonny, is there any possibility at all the family could be talked into donating the dog to a local police department or search and rescue organization? She would be handled by a pro, kenneled adequately, and given a *job* that she's good at, which is what she needs more than the love of a family she really isn't mentally or emotionally equipped to care about.
Beverly, this is my fondest hope for all of them, but it will be a time before they come to the conclusion that she'd be better off elsewhere.
It's remarkable how many end up in rescues because there aren't enough spaces for rescue dogs and, once a dog gets a bad reputation...for biting, for instance, an organization can't take it. Liability and all.
I'm just hoping for the best.
I'll be having dinner with the family this week to observe some of her most destructive behavior and to help train the kids how to react.
Think a good thought!

Sparky, I just sent you a message about tonight's track. I'll be home to get your call now.
Continued find~your~people~ma going out to Sassy.
Two more possible meetups (don't like calling them dates) on the horizon: one boy, one girl.
Hope the tracking tonight goes well!!
Thanks, everyone. Jeff and bonny are off checking the camera and then meeting the tracker to check the sighting from today - if it is Sass, then we'd be pretty close and also established something of a loop for her of territory.
Good luck, Sparky! I hope that you find her.
Vibing extra hard for Sass's safe return.
Jeff just called - the new possible sighting was not Sassafras. So, now we hope she goes back to the water bowl we know she's visited twice to find the food we've left, my smelly t-shirt, and get her picture taken by the camera.
Jeff and I are very short of sleep, so an early night isn't the worst thing.
Thanks for all your good thoughts - we really appreciate them.
