Tony~ma for Cricket. Heh, never thought we'd need Tony~ma except for that tiger at that truck stop.... this is a much happier use of it.
Sounds like you are productively relaxing, Laura. So far, I have remembered to take my meds, finished washing the dishes and scrubbing out the sink, ordered the water softener to regenerate, and brought a load of laundry down a flight of stairs. To do, includes figuring out if it will rain today so I can either plan to put a couple loads out on the line, or just do one load and dry on racks. Also, a bit of research for a project at work. And sweeping the floors on the main level. After that I'll re-assess. Relaxing in between by reading fanfic.
It counts if you use it, laura.
WE are having a house concert today -- except it isn't at our house. So mostly I get to poke on the internet and nap and be home while Matt runs around setting stuff up
It would be acceptable to swap "making brownies" for "sweeping living room" on my to-do list, right?

Yes, but the problem is that tends to then create "clean up from making brownies" to the list
Bah. June Gloom depresses the hell out of me. I just want to curl up in a blanket and go back to sleep. Maybe I'll do that.

Eh, a mixing bowl, a spoon, a measuring cup, that's not so bad. The pan won't have to be cleaned until the brownies are all gone. The real problem is that I've had to add "treat 1st degree burns on thumb and forefinger" to the list. Although getting the burns was quite the accomplishment, considering I got burned on the hand that had the pot holder in it.

I recommend seeing about recruiting persons of canine and/or feline persuasions to accompany you.
I cooked up some crustless mini quiches this afternoon, and they came out pretty tasty! I had to adapt; the recipe said to cook them in a muffin pan, which I thought I had, but turns out I don't. So, I pulled out my ramekins instead, and just increased the cooking time. The one I ate was a tad bit damp, but cooked just long enough not to be runny at all, which was perfect. I've got five more left for breakfast for the week--yay!
I walked downtown with amyth and a couple of other friends for lunch and ice cream at a couple of ailing businesses. There's been extended road construction outside the restaurant and ice cream place, and it's been cutting into their bottom line. I ate ice cream for the greater good!
I also cleaned the tub. That's probably going to be my onerous task for the day.
I've vacuumed & steam cleaned the carpets in the main part of the house, solidifying my strong dislike of the carpet and desperately hoping to get a good book deal so we can replace the flooring to something more easily maintained. And not beige.
