[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

I spotted this and just HAD to share it.

Much as I love Tim Curry, that poster just screams for Christopher Walken.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

In hopes to offer a pick-me-up: We are at long last watching Battlestar Galctica (and loving it). We are in season two and last night this [link] happened. My, my, my.

Hey. New board.

Hi guys!

Summer vacation approaches again, and as tends to happen that means I'll have time to keep up in Bitches again. At least for a while. A pretty short while, this time around actually, because like smonster, I too am moving in the near future, though not, sadly, to NOLA. My wife and I are instead moving to Nashville, which is pretty awesome for itself, though it limits our summer to just a tad more than a month (June 24th - August 1st). Still, better than people with non-teaching jobs get, so here's to summer vacation. Are there Buffistas in Nashville? Wife Meg is skeptical about the whole "internet people" phenomenon, but I believe she will be willing to meet anybody in a new city and attempt to make friends. Also, we will be buying a house! Also, we will be having a baby in December!

Those are my announcements.

I know that as always tends to happen I've missed all manner of important things, despite reading the last 300 posts to try to get a general sense. I hope you'll all forgive me for that. Unfortunately, I am sometimes a fickle Bitch - Literary, Movies, and Buffistechnology are all I can generally keep up with during the school year. Here are things I can say based on the last 300 posts:

1) I think that it's nice to give gifts with a special, personal meaning if you can come up with one, but I also find that many people really like receiving flowers. In fact, I was always on the "flowers seem so generic" train, and then I received some flowers and thought it was awesome. It really is the thought that counts, sometimes. Now, I think I'd be less impressed getting flowers in a situation that everybody receives flowers (in the hospital, or at the end of a play I directed, or whatever), but when no gift is expected, flowers are downright awesome.

2) I feel your moving pain, smonster. I started taking down wall shelves yesterday. Now I have to spackle the gaping holes they left behind. My real boxes arrive Monday and then the real packing pain will begin.

3) Congratulations, Raq!

4) I'm very sorry, Maria.

5) Barb, it's this kind of thing that makes me very fearful about the whole "home-ownership" thing I will be entering. I was actually just reading about this little guy, to put next to my water-heater in the basement. Might be worth investigating to avoid this in the future: [link] Plus, so cute!

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

Kate P. is in Nashville!

Good to see you Gris, glad things are going well with you. Congrats!

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

Congratulations, Gris and Meg on the tiny-human-making!

And congratulations, Gris and Meg, on being about to share a city with Kate P, who is a ridiculously splendid person.

“Not dead yet!”

Congrats, Gris & Meg on new humans & moving to NashVegas! Lived there for five years and it was pretty fun (although I'm so not meant to be landlocked).

More congrats to Raq & DH on twenty years! YAY!! (Lewis & I will be there next year-- and celebrating it in Hawaii, I hope!)

I got out of the house for a bit to run some errands and realized that the headache hadn't really gone away. But it was good to be out of the house and at least my personal lair is as far away from the chaos as is possible in the house.

And yeah, as obnoxious as the whole thing is to deal with (who knew the paneling was cedar??) by and large, we got off fairly easy, with nothing being damaged/lost furniture-wise.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

BSG is a dangerous pick me up, let me tell you. It makes me want to eat All The Pills.

For those who have BBC America, they are rerunning the whole series starting this Saturday.

That's the pain / That cuts a straight line down through the heart / We call it love

Woo and hoo, new Buffistas in my city!!! This is so exciting! Gris, where are you & Meg moving from? Also, super congratulations on the babymaking!

tiggy also lives in the area, and although we have STILL not managed to get together, perhaps the addition of another Buffista will finally get our asses in gear. Are you on FB?

Gris - Jun 09, 2011 11:25:21 am PDT #22978 of 30000
Hey. New board.

I am on facebook, though I actually use it at most once every couple of weeks. If I had extra internets time, it would be spent here! Still, if you send me messages on there I will likely receive them, since they get e-mailed to me.

Ah, I see you already found me. Nice quick moving there, Kate!

We are moving from NYC. Quite a change, but we're excited about it.
