Buffy: How bored were you last year? Giles: I watched 'Passions' with Spike. Let us never speak of it.

'Beneath You'

Spike's Bitches 46: Don't I get a cookie?

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

When a friend of mine finally went back to work after the birth of his child he sent his wife (still at home) a bouquet.

She was having a bout of baby-blues* when she got them and called him at work crying saying, "Why would you send me flowers? Flowers die, Jim, FLOWERS DIE!"

It's become a tagline in my family like "Bucha are, Blanche, YA ARE" or "Chineese food? You expect me to eat Chineese food?!?"

* Not using that term faciously, she never had full-blown post-partum depression, just some weepies

move out and draw fire

So you could put together a random bouquet for literally pennies, and it would last all week, with some culling, stem trimming, fresh water and container downsizing.

This is what I miss about Romania. Pennies for peonies. I always had containers of gorgeous, healthy, local flowers.

All other times in my life, nsm. They are so expensive and fussy here. And the DH hates watching anything die (see also: Christmas trees). And the cats eat them.

I got roses a couple times from boyfriends or dates, and that was nice enough...but an origami echidna would've been WAY cooler.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Gah. They need to put Darby under for a teeth cleaning, and I am this close to freaking out.

Both our dogs are in getting their teeth cleaned this morning. I am also a bit on the nervy side about it.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Calm~ma to scrappy and brenda.

TCG will get me flowers on ocassion, but not that often. The second date teacup still counts as the best surprise gift ever.

I left my handicap plate in Mom's car. Mom is an hour and a half away and I probably won't be able to get it back until Thursday. I have a ton of errands to do in the meantime. Bah.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

Oh yeah, need to brush Daisy's teeth.

I'm not a fan of flowers. They're a nice notion, I suppose, but plants, like birds, belong outside. Want to give me something? Give me nail polish (though I'm sort of on a break from it right now), or better yet, geek stuff.

Thrive to spite them

I think the interview went well. They do a three part interview - the prelim where you get information about the position and shown around the office, then an interview with the vets (there is 1 full time, 2 part time), then shadowing so you can see what it is really like. The office manager said they've had issues with people who thought the job would be good for them and then it turned out different. One thing she pointed out is, it's not just about loving animals or being good around them, you have to be able to handle emergencies and some blood and guts. And other bodily fluids. Also they send home a job description and I'm supposed to read it over and call back or email if I think of any questions I didn't ask in the initial interview.

It would be part time and no chance of full time, BUT she said they have trained receptionists in more of the vet tech aspects.

They work really closely with the greyhound rescue up here.

brillig

How is it only a quarter after 11? I literally checked multiple clocks because I couldn't believe the time I'm seeing. I even compared the time on my work phone with my cellphone. But I still have only been at work for a bit over 2 hours.

“Not dead yet!”

I totally want a do over on this day already and it's only 10:30 for me. Woke up feeling ick with a stomachache which prompted massive moodiness and a short-temper which then caused me to pick a fight with Lewis. While I wasn't completely in the wrong, I did overreact and now I feel completely unsettled and out of sorts.

Do over please?
