Ooh, was it good? D and I are supposed to go to the movies, and since he won the bet on how late his ex-would be on the phone call (I guessed 25, he said 45. It was 52) he gets to pick the movie.
I would have picked Thor, but I am hearing fun things about XM:1C.
And I think Fassbender was in the UK series Hex, the first season of which I kinda loved, and the 2nd season being a disaster, but I watched anyway. He was hot, and evil.
It's wonderful! It's a bit of a hodgepodge, in terms of the characters used, but as a reboot and origin story, it works beautifully. The best thing (not really spoilery, but I'll whitefont anyhow)
is how it takes our knowledge and assumptions of characters with which we're so familiar and turns it a bit on its ear. Especially the mutants that we presume to be good-- it makes them... human.
Eee, Erin! Glad you like. Enjoy the pool and the Busts and Bitches, and do better than me about not getting burned!
I do not have lidocaine, but I have aloe in the fridge and I will go take some ibuprofen. For once it's a good thing that I sleep on my stomach. I'll have to try the tea thing when I get home.
Man, we had some damn good food this trip. Brasserie du Soleil [link] and Boca Bay [link] same owner. At the first I had a seafood crepe, at the second paella. Both excellent. And their desserts are out of this world. The Brasserie serves mini-desserts in shot glasses (srsly, so frickin' brilliant), so I had two! Delicious chocolate mousse, and some of the best creme brulee I've ever had. And tonight we all had Key Lime pie which was fabulously tart with a very tasty, buttery graham crust. And they have LOCAL seafood, which is shockingly hard to find around here.
Yum.
I hope you sleep well and feel better tomorrow. Sunburns ouchy.
Fassbender was Azazeal??!? Dang. That show, though not always actually good, had a lot of people that keep popping up later in other shows of mine.
I'm pretty sure a Lifeline operator just flirted with me over a lift assist call. Noteworthy because he was the first Lifeline employee i've ever spoken to who seemed even vaguely competent so the call was already noteworthy.
I may have also reflexively told a chronic mental caller "i love you too" while hanging up. And by "may have" i mean "did." I definitely said "i love you too" to a caller on a recorded line. I don't think anyone but my parents has ever said that to me on the phone, so it's a total automatic response. Pretty sure i won't get in trouble, there's no reason for anyone to review the call...but i feel wierd. A little dirty.
At least you didn't say it to the Lifeline guy?
Erin, backflung again in response to your previous email.
Right. Drugs, aloe, bed.
I'm reading as much as I can and nodding along, fwiw. Erin and Pix, your patience in the face of Rampant Tino-ism in two of its worse forms (Ex-wife Tino and Money-clutching-conniving-supercilious-control-freak-businessmanager Tino) is amazing.
Gud! Congratulations!
That's all I have. I'm restricted on screen time because the sinus infections have incurred screen-related eyestrain that is quite possibly going to drive me mad. My Dr. says it will get better soon and amped up the meds, thank god. The past two months I've been a complete zombie, with added sneezing. That was the normal bad rites of spring. This? Taking away my Internet? Separating me from my books? Forcing me to use a pen and paper? The stupid trees are on The List. It had better fix soon or I may start chopping at trunks.
Just spent 45 minutes on the phone with Mac support, and now I'm reinstalling OS X. This had better work.
