This is my boat. They're part of my crew. No one's getting left. Best you get used to that.

Spike's Bitches 46: Don't I get a cookie?

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

I must have misunderstood. I thought Laga was saying that a Buffista put forth the idea that it was impossible. I had thought that the Buffista (whoever it was) was just talking about something he/she read that that said, in the vein of "Why would this thing I read say they don't happen, because they obviously do?"

I doubt Laga or the person who made the original comment meant it was literally impossible.

I didn't read it as that. But again, I probably misunderstood the whole thing.

You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

I slightly misread the convo in Natter. Yes, the buffista was quoting someone else (who is obviously whack).

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

Wow, ok, thoughts of MMF threesomes just shoved all the sane from my mind.

Shir, it is always good to see you. All the best ~ma for figuring out how best to get from the BA to the MA, travel and all.

Pix, a bit of negotiation~ma for you.

Quester, I'm glad you are back. I'm so sorry for your loss, but very happy for the family's new addition. Love the name, and I'm happily chortling "one of us, one of us" in the little one's direction.

apologies for so much cereal...

Would anyone be able to link to a good article about photo sharing etiquette? My google-fu is weak.

Or would anyone like to have the conversation with me? My questions are ignorant and many-faceted.

Danger is my middle name, only I spell it R. u. t. h. - Tina Belcher.

Thanks for the condolences and congratulations, everyone.

It is sad about my uncle but my mother wasn't close to her brothers when I was growing up so I just barely remember them from my childhood. It wasn't until I was in my 20's that the youngest brother, the one who introduced my parents to each other, staged a reunion.

It was a strange tableau looking at my mother and her 4 brothers interact after all that time. Being of Irish descent it involved a lot of drink and getting "things off their chests".

I realized that we had really missed out on the simple joys of an extended family. All of the Grandparents were gone by the time I was 7. And we almost never saw any of my father's family either.

So, when Uncles Bill and Jim showed up for both of my parents funerals it was a chance to reconnect. Uncle Jim, the one still living has made a real effort to stay in touch and offer support to us orphans.

So, I'm sad my uncle is dead, but I didn't know him that well and know none of my cousins. I'm mostly sad for Uncle Jim, who is now the last of my parents generation.

As for little Amelia Jayne, her parents are indeed with us in spirit. They introduced my brother to the joys of the Whedon-verse. He's never seen Buffy or Angel or Dollhouse but he is a big Firefly and Dr. Horrible fan.

Katy (the new mom) and her husband were also big BSG and Eureka fans. I actually suggested a name for the baby when we were having the contest to see who could guess the closest birth date, time and name. The one I suggested was Kaley Zoe Six Athena. Close!

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I was the Buffista that originally raised the point, Steph, and it was entirely as you read it. I would never mean something that patently ludicrous.

Well, I like to think not.

Thanks for reassuring me that my brain isn't tapioca. Right now I'm running on insomnia, allergy meds, and antidepressant withdrawal. I'm amazed I even know my name.
