Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.
If I ever start needing birth control again, I might have to consider the Mirena, despite my whimpering fear of the pain of the insertion. I hated the Pill, it made me crazy, and I'm allergic to latex, and I don't trust any other condoms.

Anecdata tells me that it's not that bad for most women. (Well, anecdata and the interwebs.) However, it was a sharp pain for me, worse than I expected, but over quickly. (That said, I gasped so loudly that I shocked my OB/GYN. Perhaps her practice is only for people who feel no pain.)
I'm curious if it will hurt the same amount this time. Obviously hoping it won't.

I think it helps if you have an idea of what you are in for. I had a few (TMI warning) IUIs when we were first trying to get pregnant, so I knew it was going to pinch.

Yeah, when I had to get a colposcopy, I was not a happy camper--they offered to prescribe something to take and have me come back, but I was like "JUST FINISH!" So I suspect I'd be a bad candidate.

I wonder if that works for black people.
My hair got thinner as the dosage got higher. If I have the surgery again, I'm going to ask for a lower dose pill and be prepared to slowly ramp up again.
