Spike's Bitches 46: Don't I get a cookie?

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

My COBRA FIASCO IS DONE!

Woo! Mine is allegedly fixed, but now the stress-inducing question is whether the IUD will make it to the doctor's office in time for my appointment. I want to be optimistic and believe that it will, but everything else has gone so apocalyptically bad that I can't really believe that it will work out.

I need a drink and it's only 10:24 a.m.

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

Ship-like-the-wind~ma to Steph's IUD. I really hope I am not embarking on my own COBRA fiasco. I mailed in my election form last Monday, and emailed my former company two days ago to make sure they got it and such, and haven't heard anything. Which is par for the course for them, but I'd really like to have some paper in hand before I move.

S is gone. An hour of fanboy natter for $20. Not too bad.

Right. Now I have to Make All The Phone Calls, Tweak All The Resumes, and Pack All The Things.

And none of us deserving the cruelty or the grace -- Leonard Cohen

Ha! smonster, I was in a meeting, and just got out, and I was wondering if you got S. out of there. I'M SO GLAD.

Do you want the first Hunger Games book back? C. wants to borrow it. Keep in mind that with a baby, it might take her a month to finish it.

Good luck, Steph.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Thanks, ChiKat! I love me my teacher support system!

We leave a week from today, so I need arse kicking services from the rest of all y'all. Yesterday I culled my todo list, and got it manageable. I just have to be able to do it.

Plus I keep adding stuff. One of my friends just had an ectopic pregnancy so she's recovering for a week and we're all feeding her. So I need to take that stuff over today. And since I'm going out, I should probably get my hair cut. And we have rehearsal at some point this week but I don't know when because I screwed up and have something conflicting with regular rehearsal day.

The SO is up and going to work today. So we'll see how that goes.

You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

Happy Towel Day!

Compassionately intolerant

Much ma to all in need. Congrats to all who are celebrating.

In a beautiful, 'worlds collide' moment, a doggy lama client sent me the following email in support of bring Sassafras home. Just lovely.

As many of you may recall, two years ago I was involved in the search for Rocky, an Australian cattle dog, who went missing while his owner was out of town. After 36 days, Rocky was found some 6 miles from where he was lost and reunited with his owner. It was a story that, for whatever reason, I felt so connected to that I became a search party volunteer, posting flyers, visiting animal shelters looking for Rocky, and even picking up and placing a humane bait and trap in case Rocky wandered by. And, of course, I attended Rocky's homecoming party having to meet the pup I never met but desparately wanted to find.

There is another lost pup who needs to be found. Sassafras, a beagle mix, was lost in NW DC April 14 while being walked by her doggy daycare provider. Of course this lost beagle tugs at my heart. I cannot imagine losing my beagle, Lloyd, or his non-beagle brother, Johnny. Sassy's family is desparately trying to find her and I ask that you spread the word and keep an eye out. Who knows how far this pup has traveled by now. The flyer is attached. You can check for daily updates on the blog: >[link]
The Washington Post actually wrote a column about the search for Sassafras and the additional and unnecessary heartache her family endures when they receive prank (and really mean) calls from people saying they found Sassy. >[link]

Awww, yay for good people wanting to help Sassafras.

Randomly, I suddenly miss sassafras trees, and going to girl scout camp in the summer and plucking their leaves to sniff them, and sometimes having sassafras candy. Something tells me climate change is probably killing them all, or something depressing like that.

In interesting news, today's Seattle Groupon is a service that will digitize onto DVD 1000 of your photos for $30! I'm tempted, but my college photos are in albums, and if I took them out, I'd never manage to get them back in and remember who was who and what was from what! I do have a crapton of post-college pictures...that would be great blackmail material...

You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

I'm so glad to hear Rocky came home after 36 days! I bet Sassy will be found any day now. I realized Monday how many of my friends aren't on Facebook and sent them all emails. A couple have already forwarded to DC area friends and family so that's a few more pairs of eyes keeping a lookout.
