Thought for the day: You may never forget how to ride a bicycle, but chances are that you'll forget how to ride a bicycle WELL.
Spike's Bitches 46: Don't I get a cookie?
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
Oh how true. I used to ride everywhere no-handed. The last time I tried it I think I traversed 4 inches of pavement before I was grabbing the handlebars for dear life.
Here's a mid-day mystery. I have a habit of making silly lists of things but I just unearthed one that I don't recall starting and I cannot figure out the theme (other than "shows I like") but then why only three shows? The list says:
NOFF (this has a box around it so I assume it's the name of the list)
Veronica Mars
Firefly
True Blood
What is NOFF and why do these three shows have it? hmmmm.
Ativan is good stuff, ijs.
Teppy--your company's HR rep should contact the AETNA rep on your behalf and make sure they know you are covered. The AETNE rep might not hop to, since you guys are departing customers, but HR can usually clear these things up IF PUSHED.
We have an insurance rep who's been hounding them, and our more-or-less HR person just called them. Now they say there's a form we should fill out and fax to them. I pushed my appointment to the 31st, but past that, I'm out of luck.
The problematic thing is the time frame of CVS Caremark having to actually physically send the IUD from wherever to my OB/GYN's office. That's what makes the time crunch so much worse. Because first I have to be able to tell CVS Caremark that coverage is active, and then they send it out. And time is getting incredibly short.
oh durr. It's No FF. These are shows that- no matter how long of a marathon I'm on, I never fast forward through the opening titles. I believe Avatar also belongs on that list.
I'm glad HR is after them, Teppy. Insurance~ma to you.
Teppy, I meant to say earlier, insurance ~ma to you.
Well, the rapture didn't happen, but I was able to give someone a near-religious experience this morning ... and give her a destination for her next vacation.
Kentucky Bourbon Festival (September, Bardstown)
I got my student evaluations from last semester. Pretty good. The only consistent complaint was too much homework. One person said I followed the textbook too closely, another said I didn't follow it closely enough. And one person said that I spend too much time erasing the blackboard. I can only reach about half the blackboard, so I've got to erase twice as often as people who can write on the whole thing. This student suggested having notes on slides and using the chalk just for examples, which is actually something I've been considering doing, but I need to think some more about how to work it out logistically.
Also, I now own a Darth Vader spatula: [link]
