Spike's Bitches 46: Don't I get a cookie?
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
Steph, is it Aetna or the company, do you know?
You mean Aetna or my company? Or some other company?
My company claims to have paid Aetna's premium through May 31. Absent any proof otherwise, I'm going to assume that they did. Because the people here who are responsible for paying the premium also need insurance, so it's in their best interest to make sure premium is paid.
Lots of ~ma for your sister, Fay.
sj, so sorry about TCG's step-grandmother, and calm~ma to you for your MRI.
Tep, IDEK. What an effing PITA. Jebus.
smonster, if you decide that you don't want to bring any furniture at all right now (and I could see why you might want to pare down in a big way for simplicity's sake) I could probably make room for the bookshelf for however long you need me to, and we could probably find someone to store the dresser until you're ready for it.
Shir, at first I thought you meant the Bureaucraxy thread, and I was semi-surprised that a business thread discussion had gone there.
Oh, no. I really didn't think of that.
It's nothing-ma to wee sister Jay.
Calm and breathing-ma to sj this afternoon, and comfort and peace to TCG and his family.
Teppy, I'm sorry Aetna or someone thereabouts are being unhelpful. I wish you coverage-ma. And less stress, dammit!
smonster, we probably brought a lot of stuff we didn't need to--a Uhaul truck and a trailer for the car first trip, and our van and a Uhaul trailer second trip. But then, we have a lot of stuff we'd culled down to really-want-to-keep and will-use.
A combo of shipping and buying new might work better for you. Luck with it, whichever! And also? Eeeee! NOLA house!
Fay, ma for your sister.(Mostly, I think these things turn out benign, but it's quite a different thing when the results are waiting.)
Teppy--your company's HR rep should contact the AETNA rep on your behalf and make sure they know you are covered. The AETNE rep might not hop to, since you guys are departing customers, but HR can usually clear these things up IF PUSHED.
Thought for the day: You may never forget how to ride a bicycle, but chances are that you'll forget how to ride a bicycle WELL.
Oh how true. I used to ride everywhere no-handed. The last time I tried it I think I traversed 4 inches of pavement before I was grabbing the handlebars for dear life.
Here's a mid-day mystery. I have a habit of making silly lists of things but I just unearthed one that I don't recall starting and I cannot figure out the theme (other than "shows I like") but then why only three shows? The list says:
NOFF (this has a box around it so I assume it's the name of the list)
Veronica Mars
Firefly
True Blood
What is NOFF and why do these three shows have it? hmmmm.
Ativan is good stuff, ijs.

We have an insurance rep who's been hounding them, and our more-or-less HR person just called them. Now they say there's a form we should fill out and fax to them. I pushed my appointment to the 31st, but past that, I'm out of luck.
The problematic thing is the time frame of CVS Caremark having to actually physically send the IUD from wherever to my OB/GYN's office. That's what makes the time crunch so much worse. Because first I have to be able to tell CVS Caremark that coverage is active, and then they send it out. And time is getting incredibly short.
