Spike: We got a history, him and me. Fred: What? Spike: It was a long time ago. He was a young Watcher, fresh out of the academy when we crossed paths. It was a, what-you-call battle of wills and blood was spilled. Vendettas were sworn. It was a whole-- Fred: My God you're so full of crap. Spike: Yeah. Okay.

Spike's Bitches 46: Don't I get a cookie?

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

there's no actual produce yet what with the late winter and all the damn rain.

Heh. You will soon discover that in New England, you don't really get any produce till mid- to late- June. And that's early season produce.

Hooray for smonster apartment! In the best new EVAH, it is LITERALLY less than 3 blocks from us. And I have met the landlord with KL and we insinuated that smonster had the FULL SUPPORT of the Irish Channel Neighborhood Association so don't mess with her.

It's a classic half a shotgun but with some excellent improvements that make it much easier to share with a roommate, i.e., doors between rooms and a hallway between the back two bedrooms that has the bathroom and a side door entrance, so no one has to sneak through someone else's bedroom in the middle of the night to get to their bedroom or the bathroom. Anyway, YAY!!

ION, my grandma died yesterday morning. I had plane tickets to go out and see her this week, but instead I will be using the tickets for her wake and funeral. I am sad and also dreading the upcoming familial shenanigans.

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

Oh, Nora. So sorry about your grandma and I hope the shenanigans are minimal to nonexistent.

And I have met the landlord with KL and we insinuated that smonster had the FULL SUPPORT of the Irish Channel Neighborhood Association so don't mess with her.

AHAHA I wondered if you'd gone there. I owe you two so, so much.

And none of us deserving the cruelty or the grace -- Leonard Cohen

So sorry, Nora, and good luck with your family.

The house situation sounds PERFECT, smonster, the neighborhood, the house itself, proximity to Nora and DH, everything.

"And that's why God Almighty gave us fire insurance and the public defender".

We were subtle! (I think.) It was mostly in the guise of vouching for you. (which there really was NO issue with from Ray's POV.)

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Nora, I'm so sorry. May your time go more easily than you expect.

Smonster, yay, NOLA house!

Still sending health-ma to Scrappy's DH.

Thrive to spite them

smonster glad you got such an awesome house!

Nora, I'm sorry about your grandma and upcoming family shenanigans.

Nora, yeah I'm still getting used to the differences in seasons and things, but so far I like everything. Especially having different towns so close by. St Albans is small but it doesn't take that long to get to Burlington or Williston or wherever. My commute when I first started working at the airport took a little bit longer than it takes to get to Burlington.

It also means I have a bigger variety of food and places to eat. There are 2 new food carts on Church St in Burlington - a Turkish tea cart that also serves food and a mashed potato cart. They based it off the mashed potato bars you see at weddings. Only they fry the mashed potatoes up on a grill and mix in the toppings right there.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

{{{Nora}}} I'm so sorry for your loss. May the family drama be less dramatic than you expect it to be.
